One would think John Ulrich could pull off a Fontana round. I mean he put together 3 decent race weekends in short order a couple years ago...and this is in his own backyard.

The last local big boy race I attended was the Superbike Shootout put on by Ulrich at Fontana.
I hung out with him briefly and chatted, I thanked him for putting the race on. He did a very good job.

With Hayden signing for WSBK next year, Laguna is looking like a good bet...

^ Bruce Belfer did mention something about racing in his list of priorities for "new" EBR in a recent post on Badweb.

Hank will be able to say for sure, but I thought it was going to be an R1.

I'm still lurking here. Hopefully Cory will be racing on a Yamaha in 1000 Superstock, but as always it depends on sponsorship money.

Although he enjoyed riding the EBR he is getting along in his career and wants to ride something that he has a better chance of running up front.

Damn, beIN has GOT to get their schedule correct so I can find the MotoAmerica races on the DVR. Instead I recorded the MotoGP qualifying which wasn't bad... but the recorder stopped JUST before the MotoAmerica race. Had to do some digging to find out who won.
[SPOILER SPACE]

Looks like Beaubier is starting out on the wrong foot by crashing out of the first race of the season. First race today won by Tony Elias!! Hayes in third, Hayden (Roger, not Nicky) in second.

Race two tomorrow and I THINK I have the DVR set up properly this time.

Elias is making our regulars look bad. For some strange reason, beIN had the race listed as "FIM Superbike from the Netherlands." Good thing Greg White had posted the correct times on his Facebook page and I took his word over Verizon's.

By the way, you know Beaubier is off to a bad start when after the first two races he trails Johnny Rock Page in points...

Elias has had experience on Cota. Hes going to have learn alot tighter tracks and get accustom to them.

Superbike/Superstock was the best racing all weekend. Elias, a world champ Moto2 and MotoGP winner was exceptional. Eslick struggled all weekend. The MotoGP race was a total letdown. It wasnt the track; it was the wind, strong and gusty. I was sitting at turn 12 at the end of the long back straight. See the bikes approach at 200+mph was amazing. COTA's score towers suck, only showing top ten, and half the time not accurate. Not to mention the lap counter had lights out so that 8 looked like 0. It's nice to be there to hear the bikes, but It's much better to watch in HD at home.

Elias seems to have issues with tracks he's never seen before... didn't look terribly impressive this past weekend in New Jersey BUT he'll get a second shot at it in September.

The Yamaha boys were pretty much untouchable. I still don't understand why Yamaha didn't tap Beaubier for WSBK duties. Guintoli and Lowes aren't making much of an impression so far.

Now that Elias has secured his seat for the season, it WILL be interesting to see how hungry he is to keep it! Very impressive introductory races, for sure, but New Jersey wasn't very impressive. New track and rain, or...?

Everyone is probably put off of Americans after Josh Herrins stellar performance in Moto 2. What a joke that was.

I'm here at Barber motorsports park watchin Max Flinders in superpole 1. Not sure what his times are on the EBR cant hear the announcer. His bike sure is quiet. He's got an HMF on it. I thought it would be louder. Tried posting pics but cant get the damn thing to work. Nice track, bit I cant seem to find a good spot to see much. I ended up parking my bike on turn 2. Guess its a carousel. Well they just said Max made the top 10 so I think that puts him in the superpole shootout?

Smoke's team with Max is running a Yamaha R1. They started off with the EBR until things got complicated, so they parked the EBR. Tim always has the EBR out for display at the tracks, though.

Knapp doing so well on the Yamalube bike makes one wonder, for sure! Josh Day has taken some serious flights from high sides on the bike, and hopefully will be able to return and get back into the swing of things.

Oh I saw the EBR out and thought that was it. I was pretty far away up on a hill. I didnt see him in the paddock. Wasn't anyone around his trailer...probably having lunch.

I think they signed Knapp. So I'm not sure where that puts Josh.

With the hill and distance from paddock to pit, we are working the bike in the pit. We are under the Friendly Yamaha popup between Hayden Gillim and Westby. Qualified 18th but on pace with the next 4 in front of us.
Stop by and say hey!

Congrats....I managed to record part of race 2 and some garbage soccer. It didn't get race 1 at all. Wish I had stayed but I had to leave. I'll probably be back next year.

Definitely taking a different bike. I took my Aprilia Caponord and haven't had it out that far before.. big mistake. Turns out it's not the long range sport tour I thought it was. I'm going to have a look at the Yamaha FJ-07 when they come out with it next year. The FJ-09 is awesome but I want something smaller.

SPOILER ALERT

Congratulation to Danny Eslick STK1 is 4th in the SBK race 1 at Laguna. Observe the differential in lap time between him and Josh Hayes. Ahead of the Aprilia V4 too!!

Wish he had an EBR 1190RX out there.
Great position behind Josh Hates and ahead of the Aprilia
