I'm sure this has been covered, but I can't find anything using the search function.

How come there aren't any 1190RX's in AMA Superbike? Are they not homologated for that particular series? (Doesn't make sense because the RS was run in a batch of 100...)

I'm sure I'm missing something, but I truly believe that the RX could make podiums in AMA.

What says the almighty BadWeb?

RX is not going to make anyone jump onto the box.

I'm not speaking literally. I'm just saying it's a much higher probability than in World Super Bike.

No podiums right off the bat, I know this. But they have a very potent bike, I just don't know why they aren't being raced in AMA.

That's my question. How come?

They're still running the 1190RS in AMA Superbike for a very good reason- the rules. If they ran the 1190RX, they'd have to run the factory Showa suspension bits. The RS comes "stock" with high dollar Ohlins suspension components.

The WSBK rules allow fancy aftermarket suspension components to be installed on the RX's which wouldn't be legal in AMA.

Simple answer - not homologated. RS was homologated a couple of years back.

Homologating the RX for AMA would just have been an additional expense (for a dying series),
