Thought I'd share this shot of me beating a Panigale in the Open Twins race at the Moto West Grand Prix Round One.
My braking is really improving and I feel like I'm on the verge of a lap time breakthrough.

Rob, you failed to mention that you were on FIRE that weekend. This has GOT to be the photo of the year.

Oh yeah that. Too much time on the warmers I guess. The bike is now officially called "Ghost Rider". Miraculously, no damage except to tire. Racing it sunday.

Rob . . . It's warm enough.

If you take up a collection for tires . . I'm in . . . I love watching you race this thing and learn.

While that's a really impressive photo, I'm really curious about what happened to cause that. Did you ride through some spilled gas, which ignited, or did you have a fuel leak, or what? It doesn't look like an oil fire, to me, and I doubt it's a coolant leak. I also don't think it's trick photography. So, please tell us the story behind the picture.

On the 1125R, I have a fuel tank drain line spliced into the fuel line. It developed a pin hole leak and when pressurized, started spraying fuel.
The bike started missing like out of gas in turn 2 (long right 100 mph+ sweeper) and felt like it was running really hot. Stood it up on exit and looked back to see if it was smoking and I was trailing about 20 feet of flames! Hit the kill switch which cut fuel pump. Kept moving to keep the heat away from the bike (and me). By the time I coasted off, only residual flames left, which I put out by hand. Pic is when fire was almost out. Sometimes even bad luck, is lucky.

Wow! Thanks for sharing the pics and racing! I do confess, I was wondering what type of suit you were wearing? Looks too smooth to be an Aerostich...

Not to speak for Rob, but I think he's rocking a GP-1 from Motoport.

If that picture is "almost out", I hate to think of what "on fire" would be. Yikes!

No damage to belt. Crazy. Raced the bike Sunday in WERA at AAA Speedway in CA. Took 1st in HWT SS and 2nd in HWT SB. No way I was gonna stay with a Panigale R on the long straights of AAA on my stock 1125R.
The bike is still for sale BTW.

And yes, that's my 1190RS forks and front wheel on the bike (not included).
