Alstare could have talked to EBR they would have gladly linked up with such an experienced WSBK team.

You seem to have missed the point of my post, which is that both Dorna and DMG are doing a wonderful job of DESTROYING superbike racing.

Teams tend to come and go from WSb quite regularly, and there are still at least 20 signed for next year, so things aren't as glum as Superbike planet would like to make out.

Alstare left for a few years before, and only came back last year with Ducati. Francis Batta tries to run his team with somebody else paying for it, and tends to throw his toys out of the pram if he thinks he is getting anything less than 100% factory support. This is why he split with Suzuki and the same is now true with Ducati. He threatened to go to BSB but couldn't get anyone to bankroll his team so now has gone car racing. No real loss to WSB. Red Devils Aprilia were also a relatively new team to WSB and struggled for finance last year too. Aprilia told them they would have to pay for their bikes so they left : (

There are new team coming to replace them, inclding the two new factory teams form EBR and MV, so the grid still looks pretty healthy.
