Lots of Weather,Bad Weather and Horribly Bad Weather!

That seemed to be the theme for the weekend here at Miller. From drizzle to full on rain, from gropple to hail to SNOW blanketing the foothills. We had it all.
It would seem with all this liquid we would see a lot of spills, and there were quite a few.

A lot of these had to do, however, with a lack of rubber on the track, unsuccessful braking and the usual propensity for everyone to show up at Turn One at roughly the same time!
Perhaps Max Biaggi running off the track was the most disturbing with me being also an Aprilia fan.
The finish line pretty much summed up who's bike was working the best, and for once, the old guys are winning!
Well, Welcome to the BadWeb and lets get on with this!

Geoff May, on the Amsoil EBR 1125R Buell
at full tilt headed for the Attitudes
(all the corners at Miller have cool names and are well marked as seen below!)

What do YOU think?

Paul James on the Harley Davidson of Appleton XR1200

Geoff May on the 1125R with a new front number style.

Chase McFarland hauling Harley
(Thats the Latus Motors Racing RSRaceCraft.com as in Ronnie Saner Harley Davidson XR1200)
Chase ran the Buell 1125R a few years back and he and his Father are the "Must meet" type of people.Truly "Racers" through and through !

Dragging Knee at what?, a buck twenty plus. Thats the Big M.

Fantastic Miller Motorsports Park showing it's Colors.

Chase, that former Buell rider putting the Sporty through it's paces.
Basically, Chasing his dreams!
(Corny, I know!)

Who said it's over?...These Owls occupied the bleachers when no one was hanging around. We saw five of them with a couple very young ones. Just don't sit under them!

How is it backwards? If you look at it straight on they are both correct just depends on which side of the bike your on. You are referring to the logo's on the air box cover right?

The logo isn't backwards. The logo is what it is. You'd have to reverse the logo to make it a mirror image when viewed from the top of the bike.

"i also notice the backwards logo"
Then youre not looking at it right.

Look at both logos, one per side of the tank
Notice the head of the pegasus is over the R. See that?
See now that the logo isnt backwards?

GREAT PICS!
That owl one is creepy

EBear, great pictures!! They make up for the ineptitude of SPEED not showing Geoff and the Erik Buell Racing 1125RR!!!

Not to be a nudge, but the Pegasus should be facing forward on both sides of the air box cover, it looks far more natural...

It does look better, but to say it is "backwards" isn't correct. They would have to design another logo.

side note - the spell checker is just fine with "itn't". I've learned a new word. : )

They would have to design another logo.
They have the logos already where the pegasus is facing forwad on both sides and the name is the right way, have them on my bike. Then again, maybe they just liked it better this way? Really not important, back to the OP. Awesome pics as always Ebear! Geoff is a great rider that is sure to make a name for himself and Erik Buell Racing.

Pretty sure it was intentional, it's been like that since the beginning of the season.

First pic I know of posted back in mid March.

On both sides of the bike, the letters are reading in the same direction (left to right) as the Pegasus is moving. THIS IS GOOD.

Contrary, the Pegasus would be moving right to left and the letters would be reading left to right. NOT GOOD. IMO.

I believe you guys are right, it's intenional. I think it looks better the other way, but what do I know? It sures heck won't keep me from buying one! Maybe when I get mine that will be my first mod, letters left to right but both Pegasus' going forward.

Great photos! Thanks! Is anyone else amazed by the fact that Geoff is currently sitting in 9th place in points . . . working out of that little truck and racing the 1125?

He's 16 points behind Roger Hayden and 22 points behind Ben Bostrom, and once he has the 1190, he should be able to do a little better.

It's not realistic to think the 1190 will be on the podium out of the box and it's probably a long-shot for a podium any time this year, but how cool would it be if Geoff could finish ahead of one - or possibly even both - of the Jordan riders?

I agree Elvis, I think he will be on the podium this season. I dont think it'll be the first race, may have some 'teething' problems, but I doubt it'll take long to get up there.
As you said, as well as he has done withthe equipment he has, it can only get better when he gets on a more powerful, and better, bike

I've been flat out amazed with what Geoff has done with the 1125R and the attitude he's maintained. He is perhaps one of the most positive and upbeat folks I've ever met in addition to being a very talented racer. He's an incredible ambassador not only for Erik Buell Racing but for the sport of motorcycle racing.

In addition, his wife and parents have the same enthusiasm. Few folks know that during Geoff's early years Jodi served as an integral part of the pit crew . . she can change a tire or gearing with the best of them . . . she just looks much better doing it.

If any of you get a chance at the races . . . do NOT miss the chance to meet Dave and Kay. They spent the day touring interesting sights in the Road America area before coming to the track to watch Geoff race.

This is shaping up to be an incredible year for Erik Buell Racing. The anticipation, and frustration, could be cut with a knife as folks await the dotting of the "i's" and crossin' of the "t's" with the feds to finish the homologation process and the year could get much more exciting.

In the meantime, Geoff has taken the tools he's been given, mixed them with a great attitude and tons of talent and shown folks just how far the 1125R can be pushed. I'll be eager to see him with another 30 HP.

: )

quote:

In application, then, flags are displayed on moving vehicles with the blue-star field always displayed towards the front of the vehicle. In this way, the flag appears to be blowing in the wind as the vehicle travels forward (flags are always attached to their flag poles on the blue field side). If the flag were not reversed on the right hand side of the vehicle, the vehicle might appear to be moving backwards (or "retreating").

The next time you visit an airport, notice that the US-flagged aircraft also have a "reverse" flag painted on the right side of the aircraft.

For flag patches worn on uniforms, the same principle applies: the blue star field always faces towards the front, with the red and white stripes behind. Think of the flag, not as a patch, but as a loose flag attached to the Soldier's arm like a flag pole. As the Soldier moves forward, the red and white stripes will flow to the back.

As the proponent for standardization and authorization of heraldry items within the Department of Defense, the Institute of Heraldry addresses the apparent oddity of the reverse flag patch by stating, "When worn on the right sleeve, it is considered proper to reverse the design so that the union is at the observer's right to suggest that the flag is flying in the breeze as the wearer moves forward."

SOURCE: http://www.marlowwhite.com/faq-why-is-the-flag-pat ch-reversed.html

Interesting . . . I'd seen this many times on airplanes but never knew why.

So, following that logic, the Pegasus on the left side of the air box should be facing forward.....
