I thought I saw a cloud of white smoke during the cool down lap watching Speed's "same day coverage" of the race. Great picture.

For those whom don't follow our "Yearly Trek to Laguna" this is our biggest event of the year.Followed only by the "Annual American Sport Bike-BBQ"! We own 3 Spots overlooking the most famous corner in all of Racing..."The Corkscrew"
We use the 5th Wheel called "The Loveshack" and fill the other two spots with Tents and Bikes.
We also have the best viewing area , a huge extended viewing Veranda attached to the garage by cables.Past years can be seen in the Archives and many a famous Bueller have visited this eclectic mass of Hooligans. We hope YOU come see us too.So here are a few images of this weekend......people first , then some race action..............................................................................(track workers are under "Inspection" by MotoGP officials).........

"Reindog" with the task at hand.....Tent Raising at the 'Screw'

A sign of the coming weekend????.....NAW.......

Simone.....a newly befriended Hooligan

A view of the pits from the Veranda
"GO LATUS!!"

Classic Tuber paint........

Lets just say.....Anonymous..!!

Great pictures. I didn't realize that the view was so good from over there.

Was the Buell tent missing this year, or did I just miss it? Either way, I was disappointed. From the hill I could see a Buell truck in the paddock, but since I didn't have a paddock pass I couldn't see what it was all about. I assumed it was for the safety bikes, but now that I think about it, I don't remember seeing them either.

Another Laguna Seca come and gone. Beautiful weather all weekend, great ride up to the track, great racing. All in all, not a bad way to enjoy the 4th of July weekend. Only three negatives on the weekend: No Buell truck, a VERY poor lack of a patriotic display of some type on Saturday the 4th (didn't even have the national anthem, shame on them considering it was the 4th of July!!), and a rider crash on the return trip (rider is OK, but it cost us serious time, got home at 4AM)

Tom, Keith (Skully from Dark Horse Moto) and I watched the MotoGP race on the closed circuit monitors in the Buell PR truck...Practically every Umbrella girl in the paddock was there! Hard to concentrate on the racing with beautiful girls on all sides, ya know. I KNOW Eric got a bunch of shots of the girls, post 'em up, Eric!

Oh and if you hadn't heard Al, when we were crossing the street there in Paso Robles - Ebear, Jerry, Kathleen and Jay(?) were right there eating dinner and neither party knew the other was just 20 yards away!

Fun times.

Thanks for the pics. I've gone the last three years, and have never been in the paddock. I didn't realize the teams and riders were so accessible. Next year I'll definitely have to spring for the paddock pass.

Also, the #4 Repsol Honda rider above is Andrea Dovizioso(I know, you post all these great pictures and some jerk always has to point out a typo)

These pictures were taken with my Pentax K20 camera and mostly a 55-300mm Pentax lens. One of these months maybe I'll buy a dedicated 300mm lens so I can take a bad Ebear quality picture. I'm jealous of his shots.

Ebear - you need to send that sequence of Zemke in to RRW for their Crash and Burn pages in the Laguna issue (probably a couple months - but a week to get them in)!

There is a LOT more to the professional quality of Ebear's shots than his camera equipment. Ebear has real talent...what some call a good eye, but I know that it is in his brain. It is like his camera is dedicated to his brain. His photos are right up there with the best pros that I have seen.

Good show!

Eric - It was great seeing you again and thanks for the photos. Are you posting them somewhere in higher resolution?

Bree - Thank you for hooking me up with Danny. He was at a local East Texas racetrack back in February and I regretted not getting a photo then.

I had a great weekend thanks to the new friends that I made and special thanks to Al and Joanne at American Sportbike. Their kindness and generosity allowed me to attend.

Many thanks to Jerry and Kathleen for opening up the Love Shack to so many. The experience would not have been the same without them.

I also enjoyed the time that Shawn Higbee and his girlfriend spent with us. I doubt that too many other fans got to spend time with the racers like we did!

Keith
