Absolutely. Working hard on getting my Buell done.Posted an update recently with pics.I understand a bunch of my Aussie mates are planning on coming back, talk is to ship a bunch of bikes in a container.Should be a real hoot if the time I spent with just 2 of them is any indication.
One way or another,I will be going. This is one place you really need to go.Both Bubs and the World of Speed in sept have a class you can run any street bike in.Where else can you run WFO for that long and not worry about police, cars, etc.

Speed Week would make me agoraphobic. I sold off the one completed bike recently after finding some old parts for an XR1300 and coming up with an idea for a fairing. Starting from scratch again, looking for S2 chassis. Maybe 2010.

Glendale is working on El Mirage and Bonneville. Shifting focus a bit from Road Racing to LSR. Totally different science and art as compared to road racing.

I'll see. I'm not participating except as a pit-slave. Not even sure who they'll have riding for them except for the Blast - will be ridden by one of their staff guys.

I'll certainly relay your info to them... actually Don Thutt here in town is putting the bikes together. Problem is deciding which classes so they can decide what mods they'll do.

This'll be for their XBRR, 1124R and a Blast

XBRR and Blast are in the Pushrod classes, just need to decide what displacement, with or ,without bodywork, and gas or fuel--that one is real easy to change as gas uses only gas supplied at meet, fuel is everything else including nitrous/nitromethane.You can change classes by breaking seal on gas tank.
The 1125 will run against all the non pushrod bikes so competition is fierce. All existing records are shown on the SCTA website under Bonneville motorcycle records. If a class is not shown there is no current record.Displacements shown for classes are maximum allowed in that class.IE--650cc class bike must be under 650.Tell them to get a rulebook and go over it repeatedly---then go over it again as it is written by car guys and the applicable sections are not all together.
And rules for Bubs are not quite the same as SCTA and their records are AMA and are not shown in SCTA website.
And remember the leathers requirements at SCTA are "all COW", no fabric, vent holes etc.

I know that Don is going through rules and class definitions with the Glendale folks.

Question: we are assuming that there is a dyno available at Bonneville for use in tuning engine for conditions, correct?

Steve,
Only if you bring it or someone else that did lets you use theirs!

But, the "Big White Dyno" is there for use too!

I just ASS-U-MEd that there'd be a dyno operator up there - as there always is at every road racing venue.

We'll just have to rig up a data system then for mixture adjustments.

DANG... nothin is ever simple.

I'm still sniveling over the OEM rule change a few years back in the M classes. But, knowing a bit about what records were being protected by that stroke of genius gives me the idea of targeting them. 2010. I'll put it on the calendar.

FMJ, the FIM records, do they have the class breakdowns that AMA runs that are similar to SCTA records? I'd pay the premium for an FIM record. USFRA, I pay for membership to get a new rule book. A successful salt guy said go to WoS if you want to set a record, much more time on the salt than Speed Wk.

Bubs uses both AMA and FIM. AMA rules are similar to SCTA, lots more records to fill as they just started up with Bubs first meet several years ago.FIM classes are different again and you almost need an intepreter to decipher them. You can run at Bubs and do AMA or pay extra for FIM but alot more hoops to jump through.
