Before I pay the local HD stealership $65 + tax for new XB12XT front brake pads, what US based mail order shop (that takes phone orders) has them cheaper? Prefer OEM as I don't want a harder pad that will eat down the rotor any sooner than necessary.

I have through many sets of pads came to the conclusion that HH sintered are the way to go. If you are wearing down the front rotors riding on the street, congratulations. Front rotors seem to live a long time no matter the pads commonly used on the street. You might call this place and see what they say:

I have never dealt with them.

+1 on the EBC's. I've run them for ~45k miles with no noticeable front rotor wear.

BTW- the most important thing about changing pads on a motorcycle is to clean the grime off of the pistons before you push them back up in the caliper. It's a PITA job, but it's absolutely mandatory to prevent the brakes from sticking and/or locking at random. Simple Green seems to do a pretty good job. Use rags, Q-tips, and an old shoe string to get all around all 6 pistons.

I've never taken the time to clean the pistons before replacing pads. I have about 38.5K on the Uly and replace front pads every other season, IIRC. The EBC pads are just as expensive as OEM when you factor in shipping.

I need front pads, if only to have nice ones on it when I sell the bike. Down to the wire on the present ones.

I have become infatuated with the Suzuki B1200 Bandits, as air cooled carbureted bikes that are much easier to work on and maintain than the Uly.

Doesn't your local independent Yamahonda Kawazuki shop source parts for other bikes? I got my pads from a general service and bike parts shop.
