I have trouble reading Cycle World (or other mag's), any more. The writing and editing has diminished. I, did, always like Pete's writing, and respect his opinions, so was happy that he had good things to say about his Uly (our Uly's, by extension).

His words back in 06 confirmed what the Uly was to become to me. I was riding a new City X for a year trying to make it over into a Uly, when they came out.

I especially was taken by his quote in the article " you can lean this thing until your elbows drag". My only concern moving to the Uly from the City X was loosing the superb handling that I loved about the bike. Egan was right. Handling was a non issue even with the bags fully loaded.

My '07 Uly has over 70K miles on it now. Instead of getting another bike I'm seriously thinking about rebuilding the engine, not for performance but to make it more bullet-proof.

The only thing I'm somewhat coveting on some of the new bikes are ABS and traction control. If I go that way, I'll still keep my Uly

I love reading about Uly's almost as I love riding them.
