My daughter has a Kindle that's about 5 years old that she barely used. It has Bluetooth and it said it runs on an android system so I was wondering if anyone has used one? All my other stuff is Apple

If it has the Play Store, you can open that and search for ECMDroid. If it isn't compatible it will let you know

Not all kindles have the store, in that case you can try getting the apk file and then running it from the kindle

http://ecmdroid.com/downloads/ecmdroid_vv0.96.apk

It requires Android 4.2 or higher, so if it doesn't have that it won't install anyway.

I also have only Apple and Unix devices in the house and needed a device to run ECM Droid.

Asked a co-worker who pointed out that you can get a cheap new Android tablet for about the same price as a used better one. If your only need is ECM Droid and you don't mind a sluggish machine, might be the way to go.

I bought one for $99, installed ECM Droid and Buelltooth and was up and running in minutes with no screwing around. Had previously been apprehensive given I know nothing about Android.

Here is the one I bought and am still using:

Thanks guys! Will this allow me to tune the engine or just see sensor values and codes?
