Regarding performance upgrades, it seems a Power Commander is a standard go-to for most other makes, even HD's. Why have I never seen them used with Buells?

HD uses a different FI system than Buell did.

They exist but don't work great with Buell DDFI. Tuning a Race ECM simply works better.

The piggy back tuners and the DDFI system fight each other and you get nowhere with tuning.
Reflashing the ECM or changing the ECM is the best way to go.

The problem stemmed from the Buell's "learned fuel area" because if you used the PC to tune in this area at anything other than the 14.5-15.1 it wanted to see the ecm would change the entire map so the O2 sensor saw that ratio again. You could use a PC if you knew where your ecm's Learned Fuel Area was and left it alone. But why bother when you can use Ecm-Spy for free---?

Firemanjim is spot on.
I bought a Dobeck Performance tuner for my '06 Ulysses.
Epic fail!
The first unit was DOA.
The replacement worked (?) But it never produced any difference in performance. At least that I could detect.
Removed it a few months after installation a $233 lesson learned.

Don't waste your money on any piggyback tuners for your Buell.
Better to get an OEM race ECM.
