2009 Ulysses purchased new Aug. 09, 42,000 miles, believe it or not this is the very first issue I have had with this bike. The trip meter won't reset - I have searched the forum and have only found problems where the trip meter reset on it's own due to electrical problems. I do not believe this is an electrical problem. Anyone experience this before? Fixes?

By your description, I would start by testing the reset switch.

Yeah the switch itself may have water intrusion or something.

Years back I had all of the globes in my speedo-tach progressively fail at about 50,000 miles or so and while I was in the instrument cluster replacing those I recall looking at those switches and seeing they could be replaced. Now, this link that I have in my Buell folder is probably the right switch but I can't verify that 100% without pulling a cluster apart. If not, you should be able to match up a switch with this supplier (assuming the switch is the issue of course). http://www.digikey.com/products/en?vendor=0&keywor ds=SW1178-ND

If the switch is bad, may I suggest that wires be ran from the board where the switches go to switches on the handlebars. Making the switches easier to use when riding.
