Well, just the beige trim actually. Part of my larger plan to get rid of all the beige. This week sometime when I change the cam seal in the timing cup, I'll paint the cam cover as well. It's the only beige piece left on the motor. The bike needs a bath and the chin spoiler is still in my garage.
Now I just need to find a good match of blue to paint the tail and some Hero Blue wheels, though I'll probably plastidip these ones blue for the time being.

Looks good. Did you use anything special to paint them?

I've repainted the narrow lids on my S3T but they get dinged up in normal usage. Maybe I should have painted them with pickup bed liner like I was going to.

Yep. Krylon :P. No, just sanded and foofoo canned them. Thinking I might paint them blue later anyway. I just got tired of looking at the tan, and I had the paint and time to kill.

I'm a huge fan of the Line-X. . .

Did you tape that area off, or disassemble the bag first and pull those pieces from the bag to pain?

Nice work!

I pulled the trim pieces off and taped off the logos. I may paint them again still, in blue, but undecided. We'll see what it looks like when I get rid of the rest of the beige and add Hero Blue wheels.

He told me it belongs to a friend.
Dropped it off 10 or 20 years ago and hasn't heard from him since...

Ah, there you go. I don't think I ever talked to Alan about it. Knowing Alan, that isn't surprising : p.

Very timely. My new to me '06 Uly has a rattle can paint job that I'd really like to re-do. I was hoping to just find replacement bits but they seem to be getting like hens teeth. And I know I can buy the ones, I think they are in primer, but if I'm going to have to paint them anyway, I may as well just paint what I have now. The pic makes it look much better quality then it really is:

I am also considering just having the air box cover, lower windscreen, and front fender wrapped. Not sure what that would cost though but I was thinking it would probably look better then another rattle can job by another amateur (me). -Ed

The parts are color embedded plastic. They never had paint or primer. Order them by your choice of color.

ElCamino....'73 and up.....big bumper with tail lights. '72 and earlier had tail lights in the quarter panels and no bumper impact shocks.

I've had good luck with the Krylon Fuzion paint - it's designed for plastic, and sticks really well.

Vern painted my bag panels orange; I painted the little gray "bump bars" with fuzion black. I've used them to bump into stuff...still nice and black. I've also done a lot of other plastics, and the stuff really does hold up well!
