How much do you think it would cost to build, and is it possible?

The biggest hurdle to overcome is building an entire sub-frame to connect the sidecar to. The Buells in the XB series have no real "frame" to connect a sidecar to. I would suggest building something with a steel perimeter frame for the sidecar and let the Buell do its things in the corners.

Going halfway is a recipe for disaster. The motorcycle really needs to be modified specifically for sidecar use as well as selecting the right SC, otherwise the end result could be difficult to drive and possibly outright dangerous too.

I'd suggest contacting Doug Bingham of Side Strider for all the right details. He's done Buell (M2) conversions before.

I would have to ask WHY?

I have a co-pilot that sits and stares out the window when I take off for a ride. I want to take him on some rides. Looks like it would take too much fabrication and additions to the bike to make it work. I might have to buy a different bike to do a side car sort of thing.

You could probably pick up a used Ural hack for far less money than retrofitting something to the Buell, that will ultimately take away from what the Uly is really good at doing.

And I can't pick up both my girls from school in the afternoon on my bike. A plus-sized sidecar would be neat!

I wouldn't hook one to a uly.
I picked one up last year on the net and
hooked it up to my road king. It's a real people magnet and fun to ride.
I lend it to a buddy who takes his dog for rides and he has to beg the dog to get out of it when the ride is over. He rides the thing more than I do. Get one, you won't regret it.

2 Spuds-

That is an awesome rig, looks like a ton of fun.

Just curious...How much did your mpg's drop when you added the sidecar?

BeLinda.

The mileage went from 42 average to 33 average.
It doesn't have the stock motor in it,I put an s&s 113 and a baker 6 speed in after the stock motor got tired after 100k miles. You are correct, it is a ton of fun to ride, but I still enjoy the uly and sportster more.
