A number of people have had electrical grounding and intermittent problems with the right turn signals. The 2006 had a main harness clamp that caused local binding and breakage of some of the factory spliced terminations in the bundle. For anyone with a 2006 they should replace this plastic harness guide

With this 2007 and up #Y1000.2AK guide

Even with the improved later guide you can end up with broken connections inside of the harness bundle. Buell has located some cold fusion joints at this location. I found one broken for my 2007 after having trouble with my right turn signal. Once I removed the guide and split open the harness tape this is what I found:

I repaired mine by soldering using a very short piece of wire and splicing the wires together again. I slipped two shrink tube sections on before doing this, wrapped with a wet small piece of paper towel to keep the soldering heat form shrinking it and then slid them over the joint. I then wrapped up the main harness with some cold fusion rubber tape. Last step was to put the guide back over it.

If you're not comfortable with soldering you could try using crimp slices or solder splice like described in the rest of this thread:

Another issue that some have had is loose and poor connections where a number of ground connections are made as you can see here under the machine screw head

Battery terminal connections: They get loose and cause all manner of electrical mayhem. Tighten them down. Also check grounds points for same. My 08' model were loose upon delivery.

Glenn,
The same thing happened to my 06. Mine looked the same as yours in the picture.
