From Jlnance:

- Brake pulsing. Affects all

The brake pads are prone to leave deposits on the rotor, which will cause it to pulse when the brakes are applied. This can be fixed by lightly sanding the rotors with 220 grit sand paper (there is no need to remove the rotors to do this) and replacing the pads. It is generally accepted that switching to a different brand of pad will make this problem better, and Lyndal Gold Plus pads are the popular choice. There have been reports of Lyndals pulsing too. Not applying front brake as you sit as stoplights has been recommended as a way to reduce the occurrence of pulsing.

I installed the EBC HH pads instead of the Lyndal's. I have used the EBC pads before on other bikes and they really work. I also read on Badweather about not such good experience with the Lyndal's esp. the break in process. The EBCs are WAY better than the TOO grippy stocks.

These are the part numbers I used:

Front FA345HH
Rear FA140HH

Why is it just the Uly brakes and none of the others? Don't they all share the same pads with the exception of the 1125's??

I don't get it?

All ZTL equipped models are affected. This includes 1125 models.

I just had my front disc rotor changed under warranty, (see the post "Longdog rotor), and now I'm going to fit a set of EBC HH pads immediately!

Buelet - My aprilia does this same thing, and the problem was cured the same way.

Sperz1 - Thanks. I had my front rotor / pads replaced for the 2nd time back in April or May I think. So far, this time at 5K+ miles out and the pulsing hasn't returned or even started to, which is a good thing. The pulsing had returned in around 5K miles after the first replacement. Fingers crossed this time... especially in light of recent developments!
