Finally got around to mounting the gloss black acerbis EVO supermoto fender on the uly. Wanted to lose the beak to try and prevent mud from covering the headlights everytime we hit the dirt.

I mean, lets face it....When it comes to performing the job of a front fender, the factory designed beak is pretty much useless.

The template uses all three bolts on the front of the lower fork clamp to attach to the bike. The square lower tab matches the flat top of the EVO fender.

Transfer the template to 1/8" aluminum and bend at 90 degrees then bolt to fender. Due to the shaky nature of the uly at idle I was concerned about the bracket cracking over time so I used a spare bare end hand guard mount to provide extra rigidity to the mount. The bar end will slip up into the steering stem and fits perfectly.

Fender is now rock solid. Will test it in the mud this weekend.

Well now that don't look too bad!

I see your cause for the seriousness about this problem. The Death Rays cannot be covered in mud.....at anytime. It just wouldn't be right.

Well I don't care for the sharp angles on that front fender but the install job is stellar. I think I will look around for a rounder front fender suited more to my style. Thanks for the pics treads!

I see you've removed the "inner fender". Was that part of this conversion, or do you think the new fender would work with the inner fender intact? I love the way it looks!

Do the fork protectors rub? It really grows on you doesn't it?

Looks great! Does is keep the mud off the lights and keep the sand from hitting you in the face when riding off road?

Hey Treadmarks,

Two questions for you. What lights and pipe are you running there? You've got that thing set up pretty sweet.

Cheers.

I haven't been off road with with the EVO fender yet, but the water spray that used to hit me after slinging off the front wheel while riding in the rain at low speed is gone.

Hi Hang,

lights are the DeathRay and the pipes are silver ceramic micron system from American Sport Bike.

The possibility of contact may exist between the two fenders at extreme full bottom. But thats not why I removed it.

I removed it because I thought it looked like sheit, and because I am searching for a slightly taller more aggressive tire.

Keep the front brake hose in mind when deciding if it should stay or go, as that is the only thing supporting the hose once it passes the fender mount. I don't ride the uly in heavy brush yet so I wasn't too worried about it.
