I was in Ohio last week on business, and I stopped by a dealer in Toledo. I inquired about the 08 Uly, and he pointed to a 06 and said that they are the same bike!? I asked if he knew when the 1125 would be in stock, and he told me they were going to school to learn the bike before Buell would release the to the dealers. Maybe they should learn the whole product line. Is this typical? |

I'm impressed. At least he didn't put you on a Harley, by telling you that you don't really want one of those. In '05 it happened to me at two different dealers. |

really they all have an engine and two wheels, arent they all the same, cant we all just get a long? Its ok, on my days off I shop the competition, the guys at the foreign bike shops arent any better at the narrow street fighter/ adventure segment of the market either. My favorite was that the Scrambler, Bonneville, and speed triple really are the same bike... the dealer shall remain nameless. |

I'm betting that he was well aware of he difference but wanted you to believe otherwise so he could get rid of the 06'. |

Not all dealers are Buell iliterate. Where I bought my Uly, two sales people, a retail person and two techs ride Buells. But, sadly, if you talk to others in the dealership you get little more than knowledge of the key differences between the various models. Some of my Buell riding buddies have had very sour experiences on the road when pulling into dealerships for service, Buell dealers. I guess this explains some H-D shops pulling Buells off their floor. Funny that, spoprt bikes and dual sports are one of the fastest growing segments in motorcycles these days. |

If it makes you feel any better I am the GM of a Harley store, and I ride a Uly. There are a few of us that are motorcycle enthusiasts, not just Harley dorks. |
