Which KLR? The good one (250), or the 650? ;) |

On the other hand, KLR 650 front brakes are bad to the point of being legendary, and the KLR250 *front* brakes are the KLR-650 *rear* brake. I think I get more braking force by flipping up my visor... |

Remember to jumper out the useless kickstand switch. Mine didn't last 10,000 miles. The connector is under the seat as I recall. |

I wondered what that shorted out jumper under the seat was! |

Well i love my KLR 650, no problems. I just got an older one that I believe is a 1985 600 (it has a 10 of 84 prod. date). What I was wondering is it the same motor as the KLX 600? Any help would be great, thanks. |

That KLR600 sounds like a great setup. |

I love my 650. I fixed front brakes and fork springs as well as a few other issues. Pipe and jet kit with front sprocket help grunt down low. Ride it back and forth to work alot and around for errands. Great romper in the city. Get air while crossing most of the RR tacks in town. Wheelies easy enough and has got me in more trouble than my X1 lightning. LOL!!! Slow cruises on fire trails and the like also. Its a breeze in the hills. I need more agressive tires for dirt but the Kendas work great on road. Have left a few guys for dead in the twisty stuff. Not sure about the motor being the same as the 600 though. I think the 600 makes better low end and mid. Its for sure geared different. (Message edited by wile_e.coyote on September 08, 2007) |

Are you going to try and bring one of your friends "leaning against the garage" bikes back from the grave? Its fun but time consuming, though it has let me really rediscover the joy of simple bikes. It was 15 minutes till I had to leave for work, and I had an itch to ride the KLR instead of the 9sx. So I took the exhaust that had come from ebay the day before, completely swapped it out with the mangled exhaust that came with the bike, and left with 3 minutes to spare. Gotta love a bike with *so* few parts that still does most things motorcycly. |
