Well, my perfectly reliable steed quit on me the other day; the ignition fuse had burned--replaced it with the spare, switched on the key and it immediately blew again. After pushing it home, I started the troubleshooting process. Check connectors, unplugging, coating with dielectric grease and reconnecting all the while looking for a pinched wire shorting to ground. Then, I disconnected the fuel pump, engine temp sensor, tip sensor, and side stand sensor; switched on key, moved kill switch to run and immediately lost the fuse-- Any ideas or suggestions as to where to look next?? Thanx!!} |

starter relay... often times the plug gets a little melted and/or crushed. also look inside the switch housing on the right with the kill switch for a pinched wire, this is most often the problem. SMC |
