Nuts, You bailin' on the trip south? Here's my plan... Mon, Sept. 10 leave here for VIR to meet Blublak Tue. ??? Wed. PTT/Buell track day Thurs. I'll be headed your way from Danville. Should skate into town around noonish? After that I have no plans except to be back at work on Monday(maybe ). I just ordered some new grips. Someone thought it would be a good idea to put "grip goo?" all over the current set. It's just plain GROSS feeling. I ordered a helmet too... See Ebay link here |

You gotta see this helmet Tank. Its got a big thing on top that looks like a nose and a huge sticker on the back that says "Smut Peddler". I ain't trying to make excuses but I strongly believe that is what made me wreck both times on our last ride. My eyes were watering so much from laughing I couldn't see the trail . Charlie, I'm used to Nuts making fun of me. It used to bother me but I soon realized it was simply because he was envious of my dirt riding prowess, outdoor abilities and rugged good looks. What he doesn't realize is that it is hard work outhunting, outfishing, outshooting and outriding him on a consistant basis. Really takes a toll on me ! Our friendship has really grown and he has become like the little brother I never had. Fun to have around until its time to change his diaper . |

Tank, alright. Nice lid too. Charlie, if you could see me on a ATC you would be duly impressed. We grew up on those things in the Florida swamps and sandpits. I am known as the Donut King down there! I am well acquainted with body english and keeping the back end loose. Too many memories. |

Nice one Nuts! I typed all that stuff to ruffle your feathers but you just blew it right off. You are a sly rascal aren't ya'? Don't let down your guard just yet. I just need to find the right button to push before you release the inner Nuts and reveal your true self to the world . |

..before you release the inner Nuts and reveal your true self to the world I have been here, sitting in this chair, reading the best/unlikely stories ever. I think we already know the real NUTS! He just tries not to live up to the stereotype that he created for himself. I totally look forward to the making of the next "three stooges" episode. See ya'll in Sept.! Here's to hoping I can get both bikes in the trailer.... p.s. I would like to see a pic of this "hideous" helmet too. (Message edited by Tank_Bueller on August 12, 2007) |

Fellas', If I get good news from the Dr. tomorrow me and Nuts are going to take the dirt bikes up to our little club after it cools off a bit. I now consider it my duty, nay my priviledge, to get a photo of the infamous Smut Peddler helmet. Last I heard he was going to remove the sticker and replace it with one that says "I brake for Valentino Rossi" or "Help me, help me my bowels are moving". Our friend Nuts is one strange bird .

Tank, Where you staying at Holmes? I can give you the name of a motel that is central to both me and Nuts and is quite reasonable. The trailer and bikes can be left at my house if you wish. Should be able to fit them in my shed for safe keeping if it makes you feel more comfortable. So are you up to being the grillmeister? I'll buy you, me and Nuts a juicy ribeye, fresh corn on the cob and some taters' if you do the cooking. If not we can eat at the Sizzlin' |

Jackie, Thanks man! I may just take you up on that dinner offer. You supply, I grill one night....and I'll treat out the next! I might also take you up on the trailer drop deal. It's a self sufficient mobile shed all by itself, and very secure when I put all 32 locks on it. I have a reservation for Thurs/Fri nights at the Quality Inn by the airport. I figured it was closer to the mountains(and it has a bar) If you have a better suggestion within stumbling distance of a waterin hole, I'm all ears PM me your address and I'll get it programmed into the gps. I'll make that my first stop with the truck/trailer, and likely bike-only until I depart on Sat.. I know your sleep schedule is odd, so what time do you start movin' round, anyhoo?? (I wonder if the hotel will let me park the bike in the lobby??? ) Tank |

Tank, The motel I was thinking of is closer but doesn't have a bar. The one by the airport is about 10-15min away so still not too far out there. Goona send you a PM right now with my address so you can Mapquest your route. |

It sure seems like NUTS takes a beating here on the "Fast&Loose". Being the multi surface mileage King comes at a price. I guess. I'm glad to play target for everyone, it keeps me sharp. |

BUSTED Yessss, I promised pics. I have not taken any yet. I'll do it today. I have not washed it, and I don't plan to. I just received a new battery(that was fast, I just ordered it Monday). I'm hoping it will help the beast start a bit easier than "dead kicking". Hard on the ol' knees, ya know. Back in a bit! Tank |

Couldn't tell ya if the battery helped... I kicked it about 20 times before realizing the Kill SW was OFF! Started right up after that. The pics reeeealy don't show how dirty this thing actually is....
Yes, it's really leaned over that far... I don't think the sidestand is stock, due to the lowering links...
Fancy links..
That's all for now |

Wow Tank! Me and Nuts are gonna help you break that thing in REAL good. We spent part of this evening discussing how we can put you and the bike through the maximum amount of torture within our timeframe. Looks like Thursday afternoon will be spent riding the mountain trails of Patterson Creek (some pretty knarly sections mixed in so be afraid), and then Friday will be a pleasant little jaunt up the BRP to a little restaurant called Tuggles. The scenery there is wonderful (and single I believe ). Saturday will be cookout day since my back will probably be jacked after the previous two days. Still say you ought to bring a fishing rod so you can experience firsthand what it is like to try and fish with Ole' Nuts. Regardless of how bad the fishing is you will get plenty of laughs watching him try and work his magic . |

So you are saying I should take Monday off work as well. I don't work without at least a days rest between "rollin' home" and "work". I can do that. Skeert, somebody say sumptin' bout bein skeert??? Knock on wood..(I don't know why I do that, I'm not superstitious) The worst part of the trip will be the lack of electric power to my right leg. After the kill SW deal today, I think I'm getting used to it. Bring It On! I need AirTime! It's been almost 20 years since I last mounted my buddies dirt/race bike, but the experience has helped my control and awareness of all things motorized since that time. Respect for the machine most of all, no matter how big or small. |

Now fishing with Nuts is a different animal... I am scared! What kind of gear is "in style" now? Will the 66" Raven with a mini Abu spinnin reel work up there?(if it still works when I find it?) |

Tank, I have an extra ultra light rig you can use. Eagle Eye Annie catches so many fish for me that the extra just sits in the corner gathering dust. As far as air time there won't be too much of that. Think super steep inclines with 1 foot deep ruts in the middle. Add to that fist sized rocks and it is a recipe for dumping it. Personally I have bailed it once going up and once going down although the one coming down was avoidable if I wouldn't have been trying to imitate Jeremy McGrath. Come to think of it I have wiped out more than Nuts. My worst one was the epic "jump into oblivion" when I ended up 8ft down in a soupy puddle of funk. Took me , Nuts and a towrope to get out of that one. Live and learn they say. I have learned I ain't 15 anymore and my immortality has abandoned me somewhere in between!! |

Tank, Rumor has it that every time they go fishing Jackie winds up slipping and falling into the water(from laughing so much) And as the tale goes Nuts will bait fish for about thirty min. and if he doesn't catch anything has been known to tie a rope around his waist and go in head first after them. Now this is strictly rumor(but a close source) So I would be a little nervous fishing with this pair. At least take a camera so we can confirm some of these rumors....Charlie |

Jackie, Sounds like good challenging fun! Charlie, If that of which you speak is true, I'm not sure a camera will do a whole lot of good. I'll likely be drowning with Jackie from laughing so hard. (adds to list: one waterproof camera) This is gonna be a Hoot! |

Tank, I seriously doubt you could handle us for that long. Seperately we can be easiy tolerated but together we can be a bit much to put up with. Mostly its Jasons' fault since I am such a laid back fellow, but I don't want to put all the blame on him . Make sure you bring an ample supply of Tylenol. Charlie, We are waiting for an invite so we can bring our travelling carnival show to a neighborhood near you. Admission will be free but you better leave the youngsters at home . |

Jackie, I would love to have you guys down for a stay. I really miss all the shenanigans, but I was hoping to wait till I was closer to moving as the town would probably ban me after ya'lls visit. Tank doesn't know what he is in for. The racing has been kind of lack luster this year. We have been down to one bike most of the year(busted transmission) on the good one.Have been trying to get the 360 Yam. to perform, has been a slow process. Too much mis- information.Won the last race so things are looking up. My youngest son and his family are moving to Minneapolis Minn. at the end of the month. Has everybody tore up, but it's a good move for them. Too darn cold for me. Can't wait to see pic's from Tanks visit..........Charlie |

Charlie, Sorry to hear the race season has been rough however I am glad ya'll stayed safe! So with your son moving does that mean you are now free to move back up here to keep Nuts in line? You can be sure that pictures will be taken from the time of Tanks arrival until his departure. Jason can attest to my trigger happy camera finger . Nuts may have went to W.V. this weekend but he ain't got nothing on me. I broke out the old Bolt' and put a whopping 76 miles on it. Actually wiping it down afterwards took longer than the ride itself. I AM A POSER ! |
