Please let me know if anyone plans on making it to Gators tomorrow morning for sure. If no one plans on meeting then I will just head out from my house towards 47 (solo)and save me the 60 mile RT to Gators. |

I could make it, but I'd have to be back in Vancouver by 11 so probably not a good idea. Wouldn't want you to have to ride all that extra distance to just rush in a ride. Thought I was going to be able to make it, but was given some tickets to the Dew Action Sports Tour for Sat. only so I'm gonna take the boys. I'm really getting anxious for a good ride. Haven't had one since St. Hellens. Only riding to work and back. I've got to try and make it next week. Let us know how the route is, looks good to me. |

What can I say, other then Awesome! The route was very nice especially the 11 mile stretch between Mist and Clatskanie. Non stop turns for 11 miles. For thous that want to try the route. here are some directions. Go through Vernonia and just follow the signs to Clatskanie. One in Clatskanie take a right on US 30. You will be on 30 for about 15 miles until you get into Rainier. Turn Right on B street, then turn left on 7th street (becomes Fern Hill. Continue on Fern Hill until it T's into Apiary road. Take a Left and continue until it T-s back into hwy 47 towards Vernonia. Total trip was about 140 miles from my house. So Clatskanie would be a good spot for Fuel. I decided not to get gas before going to see how far I would make it. 203 miles on my tank (28 on reserve) before deciding on fuel. Some pics: If it wasn't so foggy at 7 am I would have made better time but it took me 3 hours to do this route with 3 stops. Between MIST and Clatskanie.

I have a previous commitment for tomorrow that I agreed to 3 weeks ago. I am leading a group of mixed riders so the pace will be mostly within speed limits give or take 10 mph. If interested PM me. So far its a group of 10 if they all show as agreed. I have nothing planned for next Saturday morning and can do a Buell ride. Sunday is the regular Buell ride from paradise at 10 down to Woodburn for the Harley drags. |

Suggestion. This would take us into Hood River. Round trip is guesstimated at 180 miles +/- 30

Both of those look good. I'm still interested in the ride you posted pics of earlier. Maybe someone else has already done these and may have some input. I've also been contacted by a couple of guys that I ride with up here (non Buellers) about getting a group together for that same Saturday. As long as no one is apposed, we could possibly get a pretty good sized group together. They proposed doing the St. Helens loop since most of them have not done it but I'm sure they would consider all options. Just got an email from one of them while writing this. Confirmed 6-8 riders, maybe even 5 more. Let me know what you think. |

Cool.. I could do the St. Helen's again. what time would they consider meeting. It would be nice to be done by 1:00 like last time. I wouldn't mind doing the loop I originally posted again sometime as well. The feed back I got form the last ride I did with a group of 10 was that it was a great ride except for the 11 miles between Mist and Clatskanie. I though this was the best part but there complaint was that it was a little rough on the sport bikes. I didn't even notice. Does the Buell's really have that much better suspension over rougher surfaces then the Jap imports? I have taken the Buell and the V rod through thouse turns and it never crossed my mind that it was rough. Its not brand new pavement but its not pot holes either. |

Aron, that section was the best part! The only problem was the the wet surface, i just wanted to blast through that section, like you said, its 11 miles of non stop 25-35mph turns and some very beautiful views, i wish i could have stayed with you guys for the rest of the trip, I am ALWAYS ready to take that route again. I am out for the next two saturdays though, my dad is coming to town this friday. How did the pics turn out at the "bathroom break"? |

I'll check on a meeting time. I'm possibly driving out of town that afternoon so I agree it would be nice to be done at a decent time. Paul, sounds like you're in with one bike or another. Any input on these ride options? Anyone else going to make it? |

O.K., sounds like this group is meeting at 8 a.m. at the same Shari's we met at before. Seems like a pretty diverse group. One or two newer riders, a 2-up couple, a Ducati, an SV, a CBR, a GSX-R and hopefully some Buell's. I haven't seen anyone besides Aron post interest in any of these rides for Sat., so I'm not sure what to expect. If more people from PBR would ride if we did the usual Gators meet and go, then I'm sure these guys would be good with that as well. Sounds like everyone just wants to have a good group, meet some new people and have fun. Doesn't really matter where. Isn't that what it's all about? Anyway, the link below has the Shari's address and a map and once again I'm encouraging all to show up that can. I'd love to see a Buell dominance regardless of where we start from. http://maps.yahoo.com/maps_result?addr=305+SE+Chka lov+Dr.&csz=Vancouver%2cWA+&country=US |

Sounds like a good idea to me. That's a pretty big group isn't it? Should be able to get at least a few more people that way. |

Aron - Thanks for the info... that's my old neighborhood in Cascade Park, from the early 90s... talk about development! If all's cool on the home front, will depart So-lame early for the 8am meeting time. Look for the thrasher XB and old fat guy rider! |

We missed you Mark. It was a very nice day and a decent turn out of 8 riders , two of which rode 2-up with their girl friends. I got to say it was kinda cool to have the Buell's lead the in line's through the twisties... Thank you Jim for an awesome ride at a good pace.
