I paid 7800 new in 04 for my bike, Thing is to beat the dealers down on price BEFORE buying a new ride. I beat the game by searching up and down the east coast and i was willing to travel to get the right deal. Most get cought up in the game and pay WAY to much. |

Viking a 1125 sounds just about right if not then a 750 gsxr and maybe an 03 or 04 lightning xb9s. That was my favorite BUELL of the three. |

"$1800 for a sixteen year old KZ750 that had been converted to track only use? Sounds about right... (For the unaware: Russell ran the table in 1991 by winning all 9 rounds of Superstock/Supersport. Of course, that's a different mount than the bike that sold...) " NO you are WRONG, the buyer verified with Dave Turner at Muzzys , it was the ACTUAL ZX-7 Superbike that Russell raced in 1991 for... $1952 TOTAL PRICE sold to him at E-Bay auction!! See Mitch Boehm, Motorcyclist, August, 2007, p. 30. (Message edited by CurtyD on July 29, 2007) |

Try selling a REALLY unusual Buell, like I have been trying to do with my RS! I've had it on C-list for mid 7's and not a peep from anyone. I'm getting closer to parting it out - I could probably get close to that price selling the thing in small chunks! Hell - the turbo system alone is worth almost half that! I just saw a late 90's Cyclone in the SF Craigslist for 3100. It just baffles me that a dog-ass 883 with apes and those stupid forward controls will sell for twice the price that a comparable year Buell will - when the Buell is by far a superior machine! OOPS - sorry, started to rant a bit there. AL |

Buell has some HIGH TECHNOLOGY packed into a tight package powered by a HIGH PERFORMANCE twin, not available in the HD lineup. Again, doesn't make much sense to me but hey, what do I know, I own Buells, not Harleys. Actually if you look at what the market will bare regarding used bikes, Buells really don't take the deprecation hit like many others do. The NADA and Kelly have values, but I've seen most Buells sell above those quoted values. Unless trading in at a dealer of course. |
