What exactly will I need and what problems might I run in to (someone said relocate battery tray, but I thought that was Firebolts only)? So far my parts list is this, please tell me if I am missing anything:

Long Swingarm
Chain Guard
Brake Line
Forks
Rear shock
Long belt

Thanks for ANY help guys, especially any Anony that might stop in and be familiar with the ins and outs of this conversion...

Some one has got to know what it takes to out a long swing arm on a short chassis bike, anyone?

The upper shock mount is in a different location on the large vs small xb frames. It won't work unless you have a custom shock made to the proper length.

Thanks for the reply Anony, hope you can understand what I am trying to accomplish (and why) and can provide a little guidance to me.

First of all, this is what I am trying to do…

I love the XB9 engine (more responsive, balanced and linear over the 12) and love my bike (and still have payments), but wouldn't mind a hair more ground clearance or wheel travel for those dirt road excursions and cushy, sweet strafing for those urban commutes and fits of hooliganism.

I like the quicker geometry of the short frames, vs. the more tuber-like and more laid back geometry of the long chassis. My thought that swapping the TT suspension over to the CityX, in addition to the swing arm, would keep the geometry relative to what the CityX has stock.

So on to the project…

What about it won't work? Will the longer shock of the TT be okay or made to work? Another member on here recently put the long swing arm on his S, and said he spaced the subframe to make it work to clear the battery mount. Here is the thread:

http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/327 77/294481.html?1185225384

So what exactly would I need for the swap? Here is the list I have compiled so far…

Long Swingarm
Mud Guard
Chain Guard
Long belt
Long Pulley
TT shock
TT forks

Lastly, how hard would it be to set up if I were to get it bolted together as proposed? Would I want to use the STT suspension settings? Also, the CityX has 4.35-inches of ground clearance, STT is listed at 5.5-inches, where would I end up? And where would the wheelbase end up considering the TT makes up some of its wheelbase in frame length.

Thank you so much for your time, it is greatly appreciated.

One more question...

How much longer is the Long swing arm over the standard swingarm?

And another question, any idea what the proper length would be for the shock, and would I be able to use a Uly damper to make up the length difference with a TT spring? Or can a TT shock work?

Anyone that can help, I would appreciate any answers. I know they are out there. Thank you.
