Have any of you ever mounted your engine to a regular automotive engine stand? You know the kind that regular V-8s and engines like that hang from... I have found that three of the four bolt holes from the swingarm mounting plate will line up. But I figured before I did anything like this I would like to find out if this is going to be safe? Will the mounting bracket crack? Will my engine fall? Any info that you guys can give me will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mike |

I'm no structural engineer, but it would seem to me that would put way too much stress on the back of the engine cases. I'd pass on that idea, and go with something that supports both ends. AL |

The factory uses a stand that utilizes the same mounting positions as the bike. I'd do that, since they're aluminum cases and you don't want to crack anything. |

Yea I think you guys are right...I began looking online and any engine stand you could buy did support the engine from both the front and rear. So...I am not going to risk it...:-) Thanks, Mike |
