I love the sound of the Uly but would like it a little louder. Not obnoxious loud but sport bike loud. Any recommendations? |

How deep is your pocket? Al and a host of others did an exhaust shootout. The results and bites can be found on American Sport Bike's web site. That said, I made my own... Don't ask, it was one off and I would not do it again. |

If you can get it, the Race pipe is louder than stock but not obnoxious. After about a thousand miles it settles in and quiets down, giving it a nice harley sound without pissing off police/soccer moms/neighbors |

I've been considering the Econo Drummer.. anyone have any experience with these? Anyone have a sound file? I've been looking for the same kind of exhaust as fasteddie. |

I like my Race pipe so much I ended up spending as much in guards to protect it as I did for the pipe itself. |

I went with the original Drummer and really like the sound and the performance of the pipe, esp with the '07 airbox and a K&N air filter. The bike now sounds like a healthy V-twin should w/o being obnoxious. When I spoke to Kevin at KD Fabrication he said that the Econo Drummer is actually a bit louder than the original Drummer. Give him a call, he was a great guy to deal with, I am sure he will point you in the right direction. |

Thanks for all the input. Does anyone know where or who is selling the Race pipe? |

Here's a sound clip on the muffler change on another brand of bike. First the stock and then the new. Listen 'til the end for the best part. If you're interested in the pipe, I'll do more research on it, availability, price, etc. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MT9wvebwM4o |

I received the Termignoni exhaust and quiet inserts today from Hillbilly Motors (board sponsor) http://www.goetz-motorsport.de/go/hbm/db/products/ 3669958.html and I will be installing it this weekend. The really cool thing about the exhaust is that it doesn't require a Race ECM because it has it's own interactive exhaust valve! Jens at Hillbilly said that it sounds really good and has a nice, deep sound which is what I was looking for. I've heard the Buell Race exhaust and didn't really care for the sound so I'm really looking forward to hearing this thing, especially at WFO I'll be sure to post my impressions of it after I have a few days riding! |

please let us know, what did it cost? I am curious, I like my race muffler, but I figure part of the reason that I get crappy gas milage is the race muffler and the Race ECM |

GotJ, I was actually looking for a little deeper exhaust note. I guess all ducati's sound like that though. |

If an enterprising metalsmith bought a race can, and modified stock ones to duplicate it, they could possibly break even, or even make money on it. I like the sound of the race can. A friend's wife said it "sounds like a harley with a brain." My mileage with the race kit didnt change much. I stay in the mid 40's with the bags on all the time. |

I don't personally care for the sound of the Race cans I have heard. They are more sharp and louder on the top end than my Drummer. I guess some prefer that they are still pretty quiet on the low end. I think the original Drummer sounds best (it does quiet down after a couple hundred miles) and the 1 SpecialOps pipe I've heard is a close 2nd to it. I also prefer the powerband of the Drummer. Those extra 500 low rpm readings that show up on the dyno map make a huge difference in driveability. The huge midrange hole of the Race pipe seemed more like it was an "anti-street" can. |

I looovvvveedddd the Termi system I had on my Multi. Especially on trailing throttle. Nothing quite sounds like a Duc I guess. That termi on the XB looks super sano. I was impressed with the quality at least on the Duc. |

Yes... we need pics and possibly a sound bite. I've been eyeing up the Termi for my Uly for LONG time now. But no one in the States sells them. And I haven't pulled the trigger on ordering from Hillbilly. LET US KNOW....ok...let me know. |

As far as I know Appleton HD/Buell is the US importer of all things from Hillbilly so I guess you could talk to Andy and see if he can hook you up. I ordered directly from them and had it shipped to my house here in Belgium. I'll take some pics of the install and try to get a short video so that everyone can hear it. My biggest challenge for the install is going to be removing the side stand to install one of the brackets; I don't have a rear stand but I think that I have it figured out. It should be fun! |
