Buells attract gearheads, it's a fact. Just wondering if it extends to cars for many of you...I drive an S2000 after many, many years of British and Italian sports cars. |

'03 SVT Mustang Cobra here. Matt, how's that Charger? Nice looking machine. Is it based on a Mercedes platform? Suites my eyes more so than Chrysler's 300 series. |

Modified Audi A4 here. Just like the Buell, it may be a little heavier, and a bit slower in a straight line... but get it into a corner and it'll blow your doors off! (Message edited by mikef5000 on May 21, 2007) |

Nice sprite Wyked! Are you building it for street or track? Both http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2613547 That is the CarDomain site for it. As work progresses, it will be documented. Right now the drivetrain and front suspension are out and the debate is converting to an airbag suspension. Not for show stopping ground scrapping, but for being able to corner weight the car with ease. |

Mine has too many doors to be considered a sports car, but it's certainly a nice sports sedan: It's a porker at ~3600lbs, but it handles pretty good for its size and with 274hp, a 6-speed, and pseudo-AWD it'll run the 1/4 mile in the high 13s. Getting nearly 30mpg on the interstate is nice too. My last real sports car: I do still own one two-door, but it's far from being a sports car: It handles just as badly as you'd expect an '88 F150 to handle. It's only driven in dire situations, such as the wife needing mulch or occasionally carrying the dirt bikes somewhere. At least it has a 5-spd manual tranny. |

Spike, some work in the form of a powertrain from a newer Lightning would make than an acceptable sports something... I lost to one from a roll at 60mph I lost by two car lengths... I need to run'em in the curves |

> '03 SVT Mustang Cobra here > I drive an SVT Focus in black, naturally. SVT owns! My last car was an 03 Cobra. Here's a video of me chasing a Focus around a track. The funny noise coming out of the corners is my clutch slipping. http://www.svtoa-atlanta.org/videos/hl30/HL30-Matt.wmv My new ride is a 2001 Lightning that makes 550 hp and 650 ft-lbs at the wheels on the pump gas tune.
Here's a video of me running the 1/8th: http://optimus.incorrect.org/videos/Brainerd%202006-09-08%20Lightning.wmv And me sending my old tires off in style: http://optimus.incorrect.org/videos/Valhalla.wmv

Not what I consider a sports car, but with 4 corner Air Ride Technologies air bag set up and 20's from Boyd Coddington his bad self, it will have to do until I track down a 356 Porsche Speedster or a mid 80's 911 convertible.
Just realized on the preview window I still have the factory wheels on in the pic..... |
