Come to the shop looking for a bike, the weather is finally here! Its time to ride. What is your reason for why you are not taking home one of our bikes (new or used) ? Post your best "excuse" for why you are not riding. So far 1) The Weather (its too cold, wet, cloudy, hailing, rainy, sunny, hot, etc) A: Get the right gear and the bike will roll fine down the road. 2) Its too much money! A: We have financing and trade-ins are welcome (all brands) 3) My girlfriend, wife, spouse, mistress, pet dog wont let me get a bike A: You really arent ready to have this much fun ... go rent Wild Hogs and Keep Dreamin. 4) I am getting a divorce. A: Look at all the free time you now have to enjoy your new ride. The open road is calling you now more than ever. 5) I just had a vascectomy. A: We will give you a month to recoup. First payment isnt due for thirty days anyways. 6) I am not sure I will like it. A: You probably wont, get a picture of a bike and put it in your wallet, it is as close as you are really ready for anyways. A Buell Hat for the best "lame " excuse", let the competition begin. :P <editted for the PC crowd> (Message edited by cityxslicker on May 06, 2007) |

I'm nervous..... and my socks are too loose. It's too dangerous, I heard that my friend's sister's cousin's friend died on a motorcycle. I get cramps too easily and the pegs are too high (I've actually heard that one...from a GUY) Other people could run me over because they aren't looking for motorcycles ...translation I don't look out for motorcycles (and may have run one off the road or actually hit a rider before). "I don't want to get hit by all those yucky bugs!" "Don't you have to keep them BALANCED all the time? Doesn't that get tiring after a while?" "I need to be out of the wind, because I have to be able to talk on the phone, read the stocks and other stuff while I drive." The first one I heard about 30 years ago - the other 2 more recently! AL ps - I've got a lot more, but they'll have to wait 'cause I'm going for a RIDE! |

The wife says I've got to get rid of something before I get something else. This was said on thursday, when I rode past her work on a demo XB12STT. Trouble is she's right! doh! |

Fake reason: You won't give me enough trade in. Real reason: Actually just wanted the free sling bag. |

I'm allergic to chrome. I don't have arms. The potato, potato, potato sound causes explosive diarrhea. My wife has my balls in her purse, and I am unable to close any deal without them. |

Will leave this up for a week. Will let you all decide by votes, so far it looks like Bads1 is leading the pack. Thanks all for adding your own reasons, the weather in our corner of the world has me punchy. Sometimes I just don't get why people aren't as excited about the bikes as I am. Keep em coming, The winner will be notified by PM, and they can choose the style of Buell Hat. |

The one I've heard the most and is the most lame is; "I can't afford it". I just shake my head and give up. It seems that humans tend to look at bikes as toys or rec vehicles or dreams. I look at them as a great way to get to work everyday that gets 50 miles per gallon. That alone will justify the loan payments! Silly humans. |

Bads1 I had one of the girls in the store read it, and she didnt get my sarcasm either. Typing is so flat without tone of voice, besides I really only changed whimpy, which you eluded to already. She said it wasnt funny. I wasnt trying to be funny, I was just SICK of hearing how the weather was keeping people off of great bikes. Bads1, You are still in the lead though, so there is solace in that . |

Just to turn the tables a minute, how about the dealers that refuse to sell a motorcycle. The following bikes I should own, but the dealers wouldn't take the cash I was waving in their face. I wasn't trying to rip them off either. I was making more than fair deals, they just weren't getting MSRP. They just don't know the definition of "suggested." A '95 KTM Duke, a '96 KTM Duke, a '98 Superhawk, a '01 KTM Duke II, a '03 V-strom, a '04 KLR650, a '04 V-strom, a '05 V-strom, a '06 V-strom, a '06 Wee-Strom, a total of 3 '06 Ulysses', and about 14 different dirtbikes all because they wouldn't budge off MSRP. Their loss not mine. I should also own a '98 Ducati 916 about 4 times over, but they didn't allow test rides. Actually, you weren't even allowed to sit on it at all. You had to buy it to touch it. Sorry, I couldn't pay that much for a bike without a test ride. |
