Mine weeps a little, just enough to collect some road dirt/dust between washes. No drips. If it's dripping, time to replace the cable. Most of the ones I've seen weep a little. |

I don't think I've seen an XB clutch cable that didn't weep a little. They never leak or drip, just enough "spooge" to catch road dust. I wouldn't worry about it until you need to change out the clutch cable. Maybe try to correct the issue then. |

haha I was thinking of the same thing but mine leaks from the oil line on the other side and I've heard this being common. Yes - it "spooges" on the pipe sometimes but I just live with it as the Buell Mech close to me only fixed it a "little bit" Probably cause he doesn't know about "spooge" good animal name too. |

Whatever you do, don't try to cure the leak by cinching down on the hex where it screws into the primary. The fitting is made of aluminum and will wring off REALLY easily. It's much easier and less aggravating to wipe it off occasionally. |

Surly: On my tubers, I put shrink tubing on the last 6 inches or so at the bottom of the cable, then cinch it down with zip-ties. rt |

Oh, Surly. You still here? Look at 2-70 through 2-73 in the manual. At least that is what it is in mine. |

If you do replace the cable, be very, very, very, very careful not to strip the case. And put some kind of thread sealant on it. This cured my ails. |

Mine leaks a little to. If I had to designate a root cause for this I'd hazard that during adjustment of cable the bond was broken between the area where the black part of the cable is seated in the hex bolt that screws into the primary. Next time I replace the cable I'm going to make sure it does not get twisted at that area during cable adjustment and see where that gets me. |
