Rode to work day before yesterday because I was going NUTZ. 15*. The Harley rider one cube over just shook his head. He finds 68* a bit chilly... But I was smiling all day... |

He finds 68* a bit chilly... Yeah, wife beaters and fingerless gloves don't provide much thermal protection. The funniest thing is for me to ride into the local dealership wearing my "cool weather" gear. Were I wearing fringed leather jacket and Daniel Boone pants complete with simulated indian animal bone breastplate and doo rag, no one would bat an eye. Were I wearing one piece bright read leathers with helmet gloves and boots to match, they would think "damn squid" but still not bat an eye. When I ride in with my Aerostitch Darien pants and Hi-Viz jacket, they look at me like WTF is that guy's problem? It's hilarious. Were I to ride into a dealership to look at a GS or VStrom, no one would bat an eye. I guess they don't see many "Adventure" riders around Harley dealerships. |

You're an "adventure" rider? From what I hear, every ride with Fatty is an adventure. An adventure in tire wear! But seriously, I have similar gear and get similar looks. They're getting used to it though. The parts guys get it... buncha Buell-heads. |

Sometimes the greasy spots are from the tires. Sometimes the greasy spots are from the burrito platter. Either way, there's gonna be a funny smell. |

When it comes to greasy things I like the immortal Al Bundy's outlook on life; "When I die I want it to be with a piece of pizza in my mouth and a greasy hooter in my hand." |

I am getting lazy this year. I have been driving the cage more this winter to work than last year. I have an 11 mile commute and I can get to work in less than 15 minutes. It takes me almost as long to get suited up as it does driving to work. The coldest I have ridden is 27°F or close to -3°C. Also the only time I put down a bike, it was 28°F and hit ice. |
