My dealer just called me about a new Supermotard model Buell is supposed to release this Monday. Its model designation is XB12STT. He didn't have any specs on it yet. The press release will come later. But I guess it's being shown in Milan. Lucky bastards! |

I saw a post last night about this on the roanoke-valley storm fronts group. So how the hell did Buell manage to release a bike w/o any rumors circulating on Badweb? We are getting slack. |

Damm, we need to up our game a bit guys! Where are all our rumor-spinning Anony friends with smileys and such. I am hoping it is a Lightning Long with bags, like and S3T replacement, but who knows! --Sean |

Us dealers received our pre-press-release letter through the fax yesterday evening. We will be receiving our launch kit with specs/pics/pricing? on Monday morning. I will be sure to pass on the nitty gritty Seth |

I suppose it was kept quiet to create a surprise at the show! Guess I'm the only one that enjoys surprises? I'm sorry that your dealer called. It won't make the bikes be released here any earlier. Sorry for the rant. I just would have loved to see this roll out without any word leaked. (Message edited by josh_cox on November 11, 2006) |

I know they wanted to keep it quiet to create a supprise, I'm just supprised it was possible. There were all sorts of rumors about the Uly before it was introduced. |

Every other Motard bike I've seen is of dirt bike origin with some sticky street tires. Being that it has the XB12 designation, the dirtbike part is out the window. I envision a true sport touring bike, but we'll see. |

I take it that it's not a 1203cc single. |

My guess is we'll see a Ulysses chassis with different body/fender work. I believe that's what Ducati is doing with their "Hypermotard". It looks to me like a Multistrada with a decent body/fairing kit. BMW is doing something similar with their HP2 model. So let's see....a Ulysses chassis with the Lightning fairing, fenders, and tires? (Message edited by Ray_R on November 11, 2006) |

"So let's see....a Ulysses chassis with the Lightning fairing, fenders, and tires?" The Lightning has less fairing than the Uly now. Did you mean the Firebolt? That fairing is only marginally better, but at a different seating position not prone to Sport-touring in my opinion. I hope they create something a little more substantial for the touring side of it. |

Sorry, but the Uly is no Motard. I own a Uly, and it's to big and heavy to even consider it a motard. I pray they came up with a whole new bike, or they risk being flamed for slapping some different bodywork on a Uly and calling something else. |

I think it's gonna be a Blast replacement based on a XB frame but taking it's styling cues solely from the early 80's era Ford Escorts. It will also have a banana seat and direct injection. |

Guys, check around. A supermotard typically has a minimal fairing. I have a Husqvarna SM610, and the fairing just covers the headlight and instruments, kind of like the Lightning. As has been said before, they're usually dirt-bike based machines with 17" rims and street tires. Look at the KTM SM950, BMW HP2 MegaMotard, and the Ducati Hypermotard. My guess is the Buell will be similarly based and styled. And the closest thing Buell has to a dirt-bike is the Uly. And that John Deere? I thought the "B"s were horizontal/inline twins? "I think it's gonna be a Blast replacement based on a XB frame but taking it's styling cues solely from the early 80's era Ford Escorts. It will also have a banana seat and direct injection." If it comes with streamers on the handlebars, I'm trading my Uly in right away!!! |

Well then it must be new from the ground up because last time I checked, Buell doesn't make a dirt bike to use as a platform. Guess we'll just have to wait and see. |

Maybe a CityX with 1203cc and the Uly/XB12Ss longer swingarm and bigger fuel tank setup? |

"Maybe a CityX with 1203cc and the Uly/XB12Ss longer swingarm and bigger fuel tank setup?" The cityx is the normal XB frame so if you stuck 1203cc in it and the larger frame and swingarm from the Uly/Ss then you would have the XB12Ss. I think the CityX does have higher bars like the Uly. Basically throw the Uly bars on the Lightning Long and you have a CitylongX. I don't think that is it either. |

If it's not light buell wont have a true motard, just a bike that looks like one. |
