I am ready to go
Bigdaddy - I'll probably be in Hickory between 8:00 and 9:00 tomorrow morning. I'd love to have some company. PM me and I'll call you when I leave if you like. I think I've lost your phone number as well, so PM that too. Oh, and bring your Uly if you come. There will be a lot of Black ones at the Dragon this weekend. Nuts - Here is my suggestion for a route. I think it will be both fast and interesting. I've ridden parts of this several times. Take 81 out of Roanoke to Abingdon - This is the boring part but you can go fast. (134 miles) 75 to 421 to Shady Valley - This will be good dragon practice. 421 is an awsome road, comprable to Deals Gap. Be careful of LEOs, they have been after motorcycles recently. Continue on 421 to Mountian City, TN, where the road will straighten out. Stop at the first gas station you come to. Take a right and the gas station and ride to Johnson City - Nice roads. Beautiful and curvy but not difficult. In Johnson City get on I-26 and head to Asheville. - It's a very scenic section of interstate, so you could do worse. (60 miles) After this take I-40 -> 74 -> 28 route I laid out this morning. I'm guessing thats close to how mapquest routed you, excepth they probably had you on 81 all the way to Johnson City. The detour through Shady Valley and Mountain City will make this a much more exciting trip while not slowing you down too much. |

Charlie, You will be happy to know that our friend Nuts has turned into quite the hunter. He bagged two Squirrels today and one each trip we have taken this season. Today he showed patience and stealth which was unheard of last season LOL! He shot one out of a tree and then waited silently (can you believe it) until he could get a shot at its' buddy. I got one today that had three botfly larvae in it. Ole' Nuts didn't even wrinkle his nose, he just said "They are bigger than I thought they would be". Yep, he is becoming the true outdoorsman. Tank, How else did you think I was going to get my new Triumph? I figure the money I make off you and Nuts should pay for it in a year or so . !!!SROODTUO SGNIHT LLA FO RETSAM EHT MA I |

Tis' a beautiful day. I've had too much coffee(I normally don't drink coffee), and I have to go sit still in order for my ears to be properly lowered. Then I'll be a one man vehicle washing machine(Jeep, trailer, and bike). Let the games begin! Tank |

Jim, You're probably already on the road and this point is moot, but....I just time tracked the route and it's 9 hours!!!! I will log the route for my return trip but I think if the way down takes 9 hours at least I'll have myself to blame. I'd hate to be cursing you for 9 hours without ever having met your fine self. I might have to go halfway today. Sheesh, well, on to mapquest. NUTS |

Looks like we should get our "Dragon" fix in by Friday. There are five good size groups of cars/bikes scheduled for next weekend according to: http://www.tailofthedragon.com/calendar.html Traffic should be pretty light until then. Gotta throw my stuff in the truck, and strap the bike in, and I'll be all set! Tank |

All's well here. Meet & greet with all the Bueller's. Dead tired, but found time for some brews, hot tub and a fine authentic cuban cigar. Jim, sorry to see you go so soon but I'm sure this won't be our only "chance" happening. NUTS is off to bed for an appointment with Killboy.com tomorrow |

All right Nuts, It's about time for you to report in. Have you done any damage to the"Uly" yet? hope not. Once you get past the hype, how do the roads compare to what you've been riding? Let us hear something from ya....Charlie |

Everyone at the Dragon is fine. The bike tipped over while NUTS watched in horror! Rode today about 60% in the rain, fog, wind, 5000 ft. temps too. Jimduncan69 got his bike fixed today and everything seems sunny. I'll be composing a ride summary when I get back with full picture documentation. I'll keep you all informed of any mishaps. Here's hoping we don't have any more moments. NUTS |

Jackie - The g/f wants to know how you get the animals to breed. Or did you just pose them? |

Jim, Whenever I decide to attempt to breed a new species I do a search of where they naturally occur and examine the weather cycles for each season. I am looking for temps, humidity, rainfall and finally the amount of daylight per day during any given season. I then try to recreate this cycle as close as I can to what they would experience in the wild. So far it has worked well. I was the second private individual to reproduce the above species in the U.S. and have produced and registered with the American Zoological Association 34 offspring so far (not too shabby since their numbers are estimated at less than 75 wild animals left in the world). Last year I became the first to figure out the incubation requirements needed to successfully hatch another species of turtle that I work with. That was quite a thrill! All in all it takes considereably more than just chucking them together to be consistant. I ain't gonna say it is difficult but definately time consuming. Labor of love man |

NUTS and the boys have photo's up on www.zeefoto.com. Sept 11 under Standard/naked bikes. All the boys on Buells are there but the dude with the red boots is railing the most! I spent the morning shredding the tires of my Uly for Killboy's viewing pleasure. Today was definitely a squirrelly day. Hopefully I'll be on the front page before too long. NUTS |

Nuts, You have a headlight out HAHAHAHAHA!! Where is the mysterious man known as Tank? Was he too fast for the camera to catch now that he has the race ECM and TPS reset? Got two more tree rats today. They were out in full force since this was the first sunny warm day this week. Gonna try to get there a little earlier tomorrow to see if I can get a limit (dare I dream?). Not as fun as having my ole' buddy to rag on while waiting for a shot. Still ain't got my airbox cover so looks like no riding until after the much dreaded Myrtle Beach trip. When you getting home Nuts? I need to get the camera from you as well as drop a house key off in case I need you to stop by for something. |
