S3 and X1 cams are the same as each other I think. M2 cams are more lowend torque. |

here's the cam scoop. m2's have a smaller lift and a shorter duration. this causes a boost in low end x1's an s3's have "lighting" cams. they have a .427 or so lift and a longer duration, causing more top end hp. "lightning" cams came in the s1, s3 and x1. iffin i was in better shape i would take some pics for ya. x1/s3 cams are a direct bolt in for your m2. |

well the m2 cams would be best for a turbo with there short duration. there is a cam company that makes custom cams, sorry i forget their name, that can make you a cam with a larger lift and a short duration. the problem with a large duration and a turbo is gas will blow thru right into the exhaust before it gets burned. when FMJ gets back from the salt flats he will be able to help you better than me, he is the turbo king... |

a turbo is a huge investment, if you are looking for some mild or even wild improvements here are a few suggestions. with XB heads an XB12 pistond with the lighting cams (what u got) and a stock 40mm cv carb i was runing 92hp. with all the above a 42mm mukuni and 537 cams i am runing 95hp an 94ftlbs the price of xb heads 536 cams and a 1250 kit should put you above 100+hp with your stock throttle body. and still be less than a turbo and all the stuff that goes along with it. you will of course need a kick ass free flowin high volume exhaust... |

yes, NA = normally aspirated (no boost or nitrous) FI = forced induction = turbos, SCs, and nitrous |

Spidy, The S1W's had the lightning cams. Normal S1's had the same cam's as the M2's. Brad BTW, How's the healing process going? |

Bluz, S1 and S1W both had lightning cams. S1W had Thunderstorm heads while S1's did not. |

brad, dave beet me to it healing's slow but the finger is doing great lmao... garret, i am not sure how much the badweb sponsors charge for a 1250 kit but a friend got one of the old melinium<sp> one off ebay, i think you can get a 1250 for under 2k, a set of xb heads for 750.00 and 536 cams for under 300.00. with that combo on a s2 with the stock heavy flywheel we got 103hp i forgot the tourqe. if you get a turbo you will still need to get low comp piston and new cams on top of the price of a turbo. mind you i am not saying not to get a turbo, i am just throwin out a few options. YMMV |

Sorry guys, your right. I was thinking of the heads only, forgot the cams were the same. Spidy, I know of a 1250 kit for under $1000. It's got cast iron cylinders, not aluminum. Brad |

Blake, I did try to find it on their site, I must have missed it. I thought I remembered seeing it, just didn't want to pass along info I didn't know of for sure. Brad |
