i just finished to built my own muffler from a project by h.p. performance of italy(race bike of trojan i think use that). it looks very nice :after the end of the headers (the two in one ) a tube of 60 mm diameter go to the back of the bike near the rear tire just under the original muffler rear attachments than a 180° u-turn and the silencer that go to the front side just to the right side of the two in one of the headers than a 90° turns of 60 mm diameter for the gas exit.like i told you it looks good and considering its my first experience its well fished to (all done with mig machine).but.....in the first range of rpm 1000 to4000 its ok and faster over.. from more or less 5000 rpm it work bad rpm's accellerate very slow with full throttle open . i think its to lean , so i want to know if putting a module like tfi or rapide bike ( consider that i have the race ecm and kn with open airbox) it will work fine with a richer fuel ratio at the top end. let me know what you think about ...please. bye Alessio |

Alessio, It certainly sounds like you are going lean on top. From your description of your system the race ECM won't be enough. A TFI, a megasquirt, or a Power commander will probably fix the problem. A Direct Link re-flash of the ECM will definitely be able to fix it, but I don't know where you are going to be able to get it tuned at. Does Jens at Hillbilly-Motors Motors Do Direct Link tuning? If you go with the TFI type system you can tune it by reading your plugs and by feel if you do not have a dyno available, but it can take a long time to get it right that way. |

i forgot hillbilly is located in Germany more than 800 miles from here . that company has a man who represent them here but is not so easy to speak with him . i ordered a windscreen two years ago and i'm still waiting... |

rapid bike isn't something we see much of on this side of the pond, but it looks like it may do the job. It will likely take some tweaking to get it right. I understand the geographical limitations, even at 800 miles it's likely that Jens at Hillbilly-Motors is the closest Direct Link tuner to you. It is so new and so few have got experience with it. I hope that things work out for you with the mods you've made. How about some pics of your pipe? |

That sounds kinda like what my Force pipe did on my XB12. It was VERY rich in the lower RPM range. I've used a TFI and a PCIII and the TFI was completely useless. The PCIII worked fine, just read the directions on the site very carefully. That said, the DL or the Rapid Bike seems like a better solution. |

thank's you m1 i'm thinking the same about d.l. and rapid bike. "maybe direct link" is better because it can do the tps reset also and the rapid bike , i think can't do it . the choice its between this two stuffs but i don't know ...really. any help is welcome bye Alessio |
