They haven't gotten the best of reviews here. The general concensus is that the frame pucks are cheaper, and less likely to damage the front motor mount. |

frame pucks are the way to go. i had them not long ago. could dig up a pic if needed. there have been some debate on them with there mounting points. i thought they looked uneven on the bike. still have them if really interested in getting a pair. CHEAP!! never got around to ebay yet. |

I just put frame pucks on my XB12R and found another purpose for them..........looks, I think they made my bike look better. I was pretty happy with the end result. |

They can break the engine mount and the primary cover. Junk. Don't even use them for looks, they can cause a good deal of damage. That said... If you have a full fairing that can help to keep them in place and not bending they may be more useful. They'll probably still bend and take the fairing with them though. |

Depending on your handle bars in a wreck they can screw up the frame.. Guy I know when he wrecked endo'd his XBR and the handle bar came back and dented the tank right where the puck is.. Love how the XBRR has them on the frame. Some one sells weld on type similar to the RR and also does the work if you send them your frame.. Weigh it out......... possible broken engine mount or a jacked frame.. I see on american sportbike there is a CNC milled mount for some older buells but not XBs... If I could add something extra I would.. I have Rhino moto sliders on my bike... |

Okay... but what if your bike gets knocked over, for any reason? The LSL in combination with the pucks will save some other costly repairs spread over a larger area. So long as the primary cover and engine mount don't get damaged. I bought the LSLs one week before the frame pucks came out. To send them back would of cost me a small fortune so I kept them. |

Hal's does the weld on frame sliders. However, when the bike goes off the pavement they have a tendency to either, 1)have the bolt break off leaving the slider buried in the dirt and bike continuing on 2)strip the threads, same result 3)occasinally it stays put in a crash 4)it's uncommon, but they have been known to rip open the frame spilling fuel, and totaling the bike. They were installed on the Mid-America Harley Davidson/Buell race bike when we took over racing it. I would not use them, I would go with pucks instead. |

I have the LSL crash bungs. Someone run into the back of me and knocked me off the bike. If it wasn't for the crash bungs I think the bike would have been totalled. The only damage was a scraped clutch and brake lever, scraped mirror and a small scrape on the swingarm which I have now fitted front and rear crash bungs to stop that happening again. I don't think they would be much good in a high speed crash but then what would? Thanks. Norrie. |

I have the pucks and the Spiegler sliders, pricey but can barely tell they are there and mount VERY securely... |
