Contact your dealer for details on Buell Motor Company Tall Windscreen Recall 0831. This one is a little more specific by part number. Maybe the fix can help those like me who had a Cee Bailey's +6 come off at speed. ... Again it was Bad Weber's who called this their attention. ... Thanks to all posters on these subjects. ... Buell Dealers can go to www.hdnet.com/service for details. Buell is required to notify all owners of record to affected parts. ... The details need to come from a dealer. ... Terry |

they are going to replace the 2 lower pins with bolts so the windshield can't fly off. |

I've just recently purchased the tall screen and kept the box with the part number. I noted the lower 2 plugs were different to the stock screen. Is that what has been changed? |

BuellDS I am not sure. In most cases recall work needs to be performed by a dealership. Do you have one close by that could do the work? Tel, I have not seen the fix yet so I can't answer that Wind, I would have to say probably not on the helmet damage. |

Wind: What happened to your helmet? Like paint damage or actual "structural" damage? I have a bunch of Arai helmets and am interested in how much damage they are suspectible to. Unfortunately all the ones I have damaged have been REALLY damaged. Good news is that the last crash I had I was wearing a spankin' new "Buell painted" Arai RX7 and it never touched the ground! |

"Unbelievable"? Not really. Buell has a stellar reputation for stepping up and making things right for its customers. Maybe you were just venting. That I understand, on account it ain't at all "unbelievable" that you would feel inclined to do so. You are still here. You must still want a Buell. Got a photo of your damaged helmet? I'd be interested in seeing that. |

well it looks to be just cosmetic, however it did hit me hard enough to make me dizzy, I hope I can at least now get money for my windshield. And I do think buells are cool, but having to deal with what I've had to I'll never again own one. |

>>>>but having to deal with what I've had to I'll never again own one. Wow. I hope, and would be eager to hear, that there are LOTS more things then. If the windscreen popping loose has you that rattled you can imagine how I feel having taken a 2006 Mercedes-Benz sports car in with 600 miles and a shot steering box! E-mail me your address and you new Arai Adsis visor will be on the way. Buell strives for service. Court P.S. - let me know if you want clear or tinted. I think all I have are racing visors. |

BadWeB sure has its share of drama queens. We should send out nice little tiaras. Did I spell that correctly, "tiara"? |

I just wish I HAD a tall shield to be recalled... been on backorder since May. I don't know whether it would have helped on my recent tour to ID, lacking time I had to do the I-15 burn and I have to say that interstates against headwinds while passing big rigs doing 75-80 mph is not real fun. The Uly was at home in the Tetons, and on a 15 mile section of ID Hwy 20 near Craters Ntl Monument which considered gravel, packed dirt, and dust as "pavement". I was amazed at how well this bike rode that section at 40-50 mph! I like riding a naked bike but if the Uly is to ride fast distance then Buell please ditch the flyscreen and frame-mount something trim like the Firebolt's fairing, something between the current setup and the EXCELLENT minimal design on my brother's BMW R1150RS. |

Windaddiction, If you got hit hard enough to ring your bell you should have the Arai helmet tested. Check in your manual that came with your helmet. With mine there was some information about where to send it for testing. Arai will test your helmet and make sure it is still safe as long as it is the warranty period. Helmets have compressable foam in them that is only good for one shot and if you got hit hard enough to ring your bell the helmet may not be as good as it should be any more. Too bad about your experiences. I am just the opposite: with every mile that rolls on my Uly I love it even more. I feel sorry for all of my friends on their rides that are, well, just not Buell enough. Happy Trails, WindRider |

You want Buell to Warranty an Aria helmet for a motorcycle you don't own anymore? Wow that isn't asking for much. I think the windscreen hit you really hard cause you ain't thinking very straight fella. |

It's Arai not Aria. If I can get a ration for misspelling Concours, then I'm entitled to give out a ration for misspelling Arai |

FYI, This what a helmet looks like when a Tall Windshield comes off into your face! And what happens to the shield. (This is a Cee Bailey's but the effect is the same.)

I see problem. that little sticker compromised the structural integrity of the wind screen... i dont understand the need for the tall shield in the first place... no prob with buffeting or temp... but i havent tried the taller shield... might be pretty good. I caught a golf ball size chunk of road last week.. i love my arai,,, |

Bloochdog, When the mercury dips low the taller windshield allows you to freeze less. It does keep the rider warmer by getting more of your upper torso out of the wind chill. I run the tall one in the Spring for those early morning commutes and the stock one in the summer when it is warmer. I will ride if the temp is >38 degrees F. In the fall I will go back to the tall one. WindRider |

I agree windrider. I ride year round if I can, and being in Northeast Ohio, it can be a challenge. J have the Cee Bailey +2.5, and I couldnt be happier with the coverage It provides. OF course, the gerbings vest and heated grips make cold weather easier to take. |

I bought the tall screen to make the ride a little more comfortable during winter. The stock one will go back on when the weather warms up. Certainly less cold air is hitting my torso. |
