all after many happy miles, my stator decided to retire over the weekend (amusing anecdotes and heartfelt than yous for assistance to follow later today -- short version, Buellers are the Best!) I seem to remember that there are aftermarket versions of these parts that yield a bit more juice than the stockers -- give extree lights and heated grips and all, I think I'd like to avail myself of the greater than stock power generation capabilities available can anyone help a burn-out (in both senses of the term) with sugggestions? thanks |

Bomber: Did you ever get an answer to your stator question; I don't see any follow- on, on this thread. I'd like to boost my stator's amp output, up from the stock 22; any ideas? I'm just tuning in today, 6/15. Thanks. |

Nutt -- the conversation thrived over on the quick board (sorry blake!) for a while -- the final result is, the aftermarket has NOT produced a reliable power-producing plant for sporty-based engines -- it may be possilbe to adapt a late model XB rotor/stator/regulator to a tuber, but no one seems to know for sure . . . . . sorry not to have happier news for ya |

Late breaking news .... Just got word back that the XB stator will bolt into the tuber motors. It is also believed that if you replace stator, rotor and regulator, it will most likely work ... Please note; this is not from an official source, nothing has been tested or approved so you pays your $$ and takes your chances, YMMV etc. etc. Henrik |

Brooklyn Bridge sized torque wrench Oh yeah, I need me one of those as well - Northern Tool has a nice SK wrench that goes to 250 ft. lbs. I like the Sears one as well. Henrik |

Sears had it in stock -- 109 cash dollars murican (ouch-ish) -- half the travel time to Northern Tools, and the lust was upon me to get the old nail back together . . . . . as always, my lack of advanced planning cost me both time and money ;-} there is great comfort in consistancy |
