Blake… I dunno what ta say. I had no idea it was this bad for you. Leastwise, that’s what I could write after pulling the following quotes from you entry above: “Contrary to what a few disgruntled pot stirrers “ “some egotistical folks” “other selfish personal agendas are involved” “the really miserable types who are simply addicted to and thrive in order to stir up consternation.” “a very vocal minority have that as their own personal agenda and are exploiting the site to play it out” “disgruntled/banned BadWeBrs,” “a dishonest and relentlessly vindictive business owner and his ardent supporters/employee? “ “I used to be a happy and frequent participant on SacBORG. Multiple factors combined to change that.” “the unrelenting malicious personal derision” “a very few there saw fit to wage against me and BadWeB.” “waging and elevating his campaign of dishonest character assassination.” “the similar outlandish derision of others. “ “a prominent and respected member of the Buell enthusiasts' community and business owner began publicly maligning me and BadWeB” “the stories he saw/sees-fit to contrive and share publicly there,” “the miserable one to whom you publicly equated me.” “horribly unfair, and very hurtful coming from you.” “egregiously misinterpreted my entirely innocent actions” “publicly accuse me both there and here of malicious misbehavior,” “a few aggressively antagonistic detractors combined with a skilled character assassin” “I became a pariah and person of ill repute” “all joining in to ridicule me.” Good god, man, you probably ought to be afraid to leave your house, what with everyone out to get you! Try to ignore my sarcasm, but after reading the above I was—once again—reminded how there is always an undercurrent of paranoia, hinting of cabals, conspiracies, and men in trench coats, in your responses. Oh, and did I mention unsubstantiated innuendo? Let’s say, for the sake of discussion, that all of the listed crimes against Blake are true. So what? This is the web, aka “Whack-a-Mole.” Anyone, and me any number of times, is gonna get beat profusely about the head and shoulders if they dare to raise their head out of the mud. And as a control-freak (IMO) you’re gonna get more than your share. Your have chosen to take a very strong position as re the running of your site. Do you expect the world to cut you some slack, to be fair to you? No way, Jose, you’re too easy a target for blind snipers. The fact is, no one is out to get you… OK, mebbe your goat now and then, but you’re a likable sort in person. So I don’t believe that even the cabal of miscreants who sharpen their teeth on the tattering of your reputation really wish you any ill-will; if for no other reason, there are too many serious assholes out there that truly deserve our derision. Now I need to get my serious face on. I was shocked (or as close to it as I can get re web stuff) to read this from you: “Isn't the primary factor, the most important thing, the humanity/honor/integrity of the individual, not his beliefs?” How (he queries as he reels from incredulity) can you separate humanity, honor and integrity from beliefs? (Gosh, I hope my Sac masters don't discover I've been posting here.) |

"Oh the pain! I spent 20 minutes answering Blake's post... then lost it." I feel your pain. It happens to me every now and again too. Usually the "Back" button will return it, but not always. I think it is a conspiracy of folks out to get BadWeB who are responsible. <joking!> Okay, you've made a great point and I am embarrassed. I try to hard sometimes to communicate my views on an issue. By "beliefs", I think I meant as relates to spirituality and the like. I was trying to sheepishly extract foot from mouth regarding something I had said earlier. You are right, that was a miserable post. I am very very frustrated. Tell me Reg, if the internet is to be taken so lightly, with records of statements in writing for all to see, how would you deal with being publicly called a liar by a prominent member of the motorcycle enthusiasts' community? You've tried every other thing you know, sincere apologies for your mis-statements, ignoring continued offensive personal attacks, reaching out for reconciliation, posting public compliments and acknowledgements, offering sincere olive branch after olive branch. Yet this prominent person insists upon repeatedly maligning you publicly. It is obvious that he sees your kind efforts as a weakness. He lies about you and horribly mischaracterizes your intentions in order to show portray you in the worst possible light. What do you do Reg? People believe him. They support him "100%." What do you do? What would you do Reg? I can handle all the other stuff, really, like you say, no problem, no big deal. I'll happily sit down with Alan and most anyone for a friendly beer and some engagine discussion, but I do feel a strong need to have my own stance on the issue known. And some things, like defending one's honor against a campaign of character assassination, are worth fighting for. I truly don't know what to do. If you can broker a peace, all the more power to you. You up for it? |

Get on the plane, buy some beers, and go and have a drink with him. Broker your own deal. You should have done it 18 months ago. It would have been a hell of a lot simpler then than it has become now, but it still needs to be done. Stop just telling us how pure you are, go and be it |

You let it ride, Blake. The very human response, when accused, is to strike back... and hard. Yet, in the long run the snappy repartee means nothing in comparison with our actions. As soon as we strike back in kind, our dignity and self-respect takes a hit. Keep doing what you do. You have thousands of participants here because they like what you do. Those that don't like what you do matter not. When the guys with the eye-patches and cutlasses swarm over from ShavedSac let them (us) raise their havoc, crap on the floor, and fondle your wenches. Welcome them aboard, ignore their drunken ditties... and they'll soon seek out fatter frigates. |

I believe when someone says they want their time back they are hypothetically requesting a return of the wasted time it took them to do whatever it is they are requesting the time back for. If it took him 5 minutes to open and read and delete and purge said message, then he is asking for his 5 minutes of his life back to do something else with. A refund so to speak, but almost impossible to actually do unless you head out to his house and mow his lawn or wash his bike thereby allowing him his 5 minutes recovered to do something else with. Time refunds have to be creatively applied and mutually agreed to. Spitting on a windshield and wiping it sort-of off with a dirty hankie does not necessarily get the job done for the recipient, so to speak.

Reg, I know you are offering wise counsel. It's awfully difficult to step outside of myself and see the issue objectively. I have an ego and I get indignant. Bad excuse I know. I'll try to stop being such a hypocrite and look only to the light. I'm an honest man. People who know me know that. Money has never been a significant motivation for me. People who know me know that. Thanks for taking time to engage here. Don't be a stranger.
Peter, You are wonderfully optimistic. I've made too many similar gestures that have been scorned and rejected. Right now, absent any sincere gesture by the other party, I just don't have it in me. My view is that it would be a horribly foolish act.
I want my time back too. |

I'm with Reg here Blake. Water over the dam, nothing you can do about it. Let it go. You really have no other good choices. |
