I think each dealer got 10 spaces to sell and all seven dealers sold all they had. See you tomrorrow. For what ever weather forcasting is worth, the Weather Channel says 30% chance of "scattered" thunderstorms beginning in the afternoon. Anybody have a canopy to share just in case? For all of you arriving early enough, if you can get yourself a space near the timing tower building on the pavement or close to it in the dirt/grass if you have to stake anything down, you may find it more user friendly. |

BG -- for an illustration, look me up tomorrow -- ;-} as always, my track day goals are (stayed the say for years): 1 don't fall down 2 don't be a hazard to navigation 3 learn worked out well for the last 5 years or so -- |

Oops... Didn't know this thread was here and started one up in the XBoard. I'll be there on my Black XB12X, and will have a pretty big canopy along for anyone that wants to set up underneath. I'm travelling solo and anyone is welcome to pit in next to me. The car is a black Jeep wrangler with a U-Haul trailer. Silver canopy. Hoping the weather holds. Did my first track day out at Blackhawk a couple weeks back in the 50-degree rainy weather and ended up with a rather unspectacular lowside. Repair parts going on the bike tonight, and hoping for better result tomorrow! Look forward to seeing you all there! -Sean |

BG -- nice to meet you yesterday -- dunno who won last place, but, as always, I just don't care -- too busy smilin and enjoying the time on the track, comradeship of friends, new and not so new, off the track, and the smell of tires aging properly and rapidly! Leon and crew of PTT did an outstanding job -- kudoes to them for that! |

Rain or no rain, is was really fun. What a thrill to be at the track with over 100 riders and see most of them on Buells. Lets's all do it again in August. Really great to hang out with everyone there. See you all next Friday.

Ditto what Paul said. It was great to meet all of you guys yesterday, and despite the bouts of rain, it was a fun day out on the track (certainly better than sitting in the office.) I look forward to seeing you guys at an event soon, and for those of you racing CCS, keep us posted with your upcoming dates! What's next Friday? |

hey everyone - had a great time yesterday, nice to meet some new folks and see some old friends too. was also really good to be on a track in a super friendly environment. the rain was icky, but i did get one really good dry session in - and being on the racetrack beats a day at work anytime! the pic above posted by lastcyclone is from left to right - coolice (mike), lastcyclone (paul), Paul and his racebike #70, and buellgirlie (dora - me!) i'll be at homecoming AMA races, and racing CCS at blackhawk june 10. D (taking dirt bike school this weekend!!) |

Mike -- it was good to see you as well -- been far too long I gridded with the novices, as is my custom, as I resally do not wish to be a hazard to navigation for anyone else -- in retrospect, I mayber shoulda moved up a notch, but I had a gas, anyways! Homecoming, aye! |

well, they didn't catch me scraping pegs, but they also didn't catch me falling off the back of the pick em up, so I guess it's a fair trade ;-} thanks, Jim! It is better to be shot from a gun than squeezed from a tube -- HSThompson

ya, the pics arent nearly as cool as they coulda been because none of us were really pushing it due to the puddles and bumps on the track. i mean, look at the standing water around my bike! i do like my new helmet though - but it whistles when i go above 45 D

You might have to play with the vents to get the whistle to stop. Either that or go back to the shop you bought it from and swap it for another one. A new shoei shouldn't whistle. Blackhawk could stand a little work on it's water drainage. Michael crashed in the rain there last year. Rain riding/racing is about staying on two wheels 'til you get to the end, not so much about speed! technical skill trumps HP in the wet. Having said that true "racing" rain tires have amazing grip in the wet. Too bad they overheat and chunk in minutes if it turns dry. I'd rather sweat than bleed, wouldn't you? White is definitely the FASTEST color Buell.

no, my really fancy, graphic, $$$, shoei shouldnt whistle going to see if i can get it tweaked/adjusted to not whistle. but i might try ear plugs for a whole other reason. heard from paul that it actually makes you go faster because you lose the sensory input from your ears that tells your brain how fast you are going - effectively short-circuiting the common sense feedback loop that tries for self-preservation D |

hey diablo - this was actually autobahn. i've not been on track at blackhawk in the rain. but rain and puddles are pretty freaky regardless! coolice was on rain tires for a session and he was kickin' butt - amazing how fast he went around me D |
