Yes and with the American Sport Bike Open Airbox Kit and a re-tuned Race ECM using Direct Link we made 99RWHP on the H-D Buell of Vallejo Dyno. ... We still have a little tuning left to do and next week I will start on mine where we left off on his. Bottom line is they work well keep in touch for an update and check his American Sport Bike Banner here on Bad Web. ... Terry |

I made a post earlier about slip-ons but I don't know where it went. I was thinking about getting a D&D and jet hotting the exhaust header, but now I see the Micron and I think this might fit the bill. Anyone have a soundclip of one? I heard the D&D didn't make anywhere near the 99 rwhp too. Lastly does the Micron have jacking points? If not, despite everything I will not buy it. I wouldn't jack up a bike from the Micron. But frankly, I personally wouldn't use that as a purchase criteria, as there are better ways to lift the bike than from below the muffler anyway. I don't have a sound clip yet, but I'd describe it as quieter than a D&D, louder than a Buell race muffler, lower pitched than either. It makes good power EVERYWHERE, and fits the bike very well. Well I want a black exhaust header and muffler. The Micron is silver only. Don't know if I could get the whole thing jet hotted? I have front and rear stands, but to check the steering head bearings for instance you have to jack it in the center. Kind of hard (impossible?) to do with the Micron. Maybe just the muffler could be removed to jack it there, but I want something that is plug and play. |

Al how do you suggest lifting the bike to perform service for the head bearings where the bike needs to be level so that there no extra resistance? I don't have a Micron setup but I do have a Jardine and am just at the mileage that I need to perform this task. BTW what kind of gain would you expect a Micron to pick up over the Jardine (average gains)? Thank you, Bart (I did not see Sik s) post when I posted) (Message edited by Speedfreaks101 on February 22, 2006) |

The best way to jack up the bike with the Micron so you can lift the front wheel is to take the silencer off. This isn't very difficult, but there will be one slight problem. In order to get the joints where the pipes come together to seal properly, I had to use a high-temp gasket sealer. That would have to be cleaned up and re-applied when the silencer is put back on. |

While I am sure that works, there has to be a better way? No jacking points=bad idea on the Buell. |

I just installed the Micron Serpent Full Exhaust system and Al's (americansportbike.com) open airbox kit. The mod did take a while to complete as this was my first "owner-performed" mod. so I took my time doing it. But, to all those out there wanting the most power increase - I feel that this is the best way to go. No, I haven't had other pipes or muffs on the bike - but something about how my bike revs up and sounds - - WOWOWOWOWWWWW WEEEEEEEEE!!!! Man, it was suppose to sound like this from the factory, I'm sure. Anyway, the most intimidating thing about it was lowering the engine to reach the rear header bolts.... not a problem, just do it step by step and everything is fine. Thank you Al Lighton from American Sport Bike for helping me and actually making me feel better about even attempting this. |

Bodyshot - I spent about 900 on the whole thing. Yes, It sounds like allot - but the sound is just incredable - the power is very noticable. I had Al from American Sport Bike map my stock ECM to the micron... WOW - what a difference. It spools up much faster and it will rise-up in second now - never did that before. So, again, I give Al the due thanks for his knowledge and attention to his customers. He know what he is talking about - I would have never attempted to do this myself on a brand new bike (voided warrtny) but he made me feel comfortable about the mods.... I even bought a Buell mechanic shirt for comic purposes. |

Robert, Thanks for the props...glad you like it. I know I'm loving my Uly with this combination. But I think it was a bit more than $900 for everything. The HW was in that ballpark, but the ECM stuff adds quite a bit. Al |

Hi ! I am a happy New Buell XB12S lightning owner from Norway! Got my bike a week ago and its amazing !! Have plans to get a new muffler, ecm and a open airbox kit. Sounds like the Micron Serpent Full Exhaust system is the best around for my buell ? Is it hard to lover the engine to reach those rear header bolts ? My Buell dealer here in Norway told me that I should get a slip on.. it was easy to mount and so on... How much do the open air box kit do for performance ? PC |

Why are there bands half way down the header on the Micron? |
