Nick, Glad you're doing better. I also recently crashed only a block away from my office. It just goes to show you - stay away from work! It's hazardous to your health! |

Nick is feeling great today, a little sore, but great! I think he over did a little yesterday. I know he's trying to get a lot stronger before you all come out. Oh, by the way, Nick did not type that post. I typed it for him, though he did write it out on paper for me to type from. (boy was that fun to read!) hehe! It's time to have lunch... so off I go! I hope you all have a fantastic day! Thank you for everything! Sammie |

I want to preface this by saying that I have a tendency to be about as subtle as a brick through a window. Originally, I had planned to stay at Nick & Sammie’s house. When Nick had his accident, I changed my plans and decided to stay at the KOA in Deland. Now Nick’s home and I wasn’t sure whether it would be best to give them some space (i.e., peace & quiet) or be there and try to be a positive influence; so I sent an e-mail and asked what they would prefer. This is Sammie’s response: Yes, Nick really is doing great. You all are responsible for a lot of it! This is how the set up is here now... Nick is set up in the family room, which eliminates quite a bit of sleeping space. Being in the living room, there is no way to close a door so he can have some privacy. He will need some private time a couple of times a day.(baths and so forth) At those times I will ask everyone to go out on the back porch to visit. I'm sure that's understandable. Since Nick can't get out of bed, there are some things that just have to be totally private. You are absolutely welcome to come over and hang out all day and night, however I think your sleeping arrangements at the KOA will probably work better for you and Nick. I won't turn anyone away, but if they've made arrangements elsewhere for sleeping, it's best they keep those arrangements. The folks that are coming because they were depending on crashing here are still welcome. I won't ruin their trip for bike week. I just need everyone to know that I will not be being mean when I say everyone needs to clear out for a while. It would only be a couple of hours at the most. I just want to add that if you’ve got a tent, it’s only $26.00/night per site at the KOA (Tax included) and reservations are not necessary. Hell, we could set up our own little Buell enclave! |

Update on Nick I have been so busy!! Sorry I haven't posted sooner. I have spent two days on the phone trying to get pain meds for Nick. All the docs let him run out! My doc decided not to take Nick as a patient because he's on pain meds and the doc doesn't deal with pain management. Good grief. So.. it came down to one of the docs from the Trauma team called in 30 pills and Nick has an appointment with the head Trauma doc in the morning. We'll have a transport van to take us. Hopefully this doc will order the other equipment that Nick needs to go forward with his PT, like getting out of bed. As for Nick.. he's doing fantastic now! His wounds are finally healing up after the flesh eating cream they put on them at the nursing home. No kidding... it ate his skin away! His biggest complaints are his ribs and lower back. His legs cause him very little pain. Curious. His spirits are way up and he's loving being home. I copied off the posts here for him to read and that just made his day! Thanks everyone! I have been trying to get some of the things around here done before you all get here... but it seems no one actually has the time they offer. Or maybe it's just me expecting too much from people. I dunno. So tomorrow after the doc I am going to attempt to get the pool filter out of whatever holds it. Nick says it'll hurt my fingers, maybe he's just being over protective. Bless his heart! Then once I get to the store...I am going to try to replace the lights in the garage so you all can see when you get here. ~L~ I figure that might be helpful.I have doors out there to paint and rehang, so my kitties can stay in my room during the BuellBQ. Besides, I hate walking out there in the dark. hehe! So anywho..that's the scoop on what we are doing. I have to say.. Thank you so much for being you!! Can't wait to meet everyone. talk to ya later... Sammie |

Glad to hear Nick is doing better. Tell him to enjoy his time in bed, 'cause before he knows it "real" rehab time is there, and he'll be longing for those wonderful hours lying down Despite less pain in those legs, please be careful not to over-do it. That shear fracture ain't gonna hold up to much (if anything ...) just yet ... Henrik |

Online or at the ticket office. You'll save $5 online if Advance Purchase is still en force. The $40 combined infield/grandstand will probably be what I'll go with. What do you think Crusy? How long will it take to walk to turn 2 and back from the grand stands at turn 1? |

So who all will be at the races or at Nick's house during the races this weekend? I can't afford tickets so I'm hoping I can make it to his house to watch the races with him and anyone else that will be there. Gotta see the XBRR in action you know. |

$25 advance purchase online will get you general admission to the grandstands. I'll be at the race! Then if it goes really well, we can watch it on Nick and Sammie's DVR or VCR as applicable. How's that sound?

I am really excited about getting down to Daytona TODAY. First thing will be to check in at Surfside in Ormond and then make some arrangements to see Nick and Sammie. See what we can do for them. I'll try to call on the way down to Daytona. I will be in Daytona Mar 2-5 and then again for the race Mar 10-11. Hope to meet a bunch of y'all there. Nick, if I don't get you, please try to call me (843) 247-2243. |

I hope to meet everyone at the track on Saturday -- make yourselves obvious :-) Please post up some times (if it's been done I missed it) and trackside location(s) of the collection area of Buellers. There's no way I can leave the Charlotte area prior to 4:00 PM on Friday, but that's the plan. My dad has to see the doc today and if he's out of danger and just in a holding pattern for his upcoming surgery BoogM2 and I will see everyone at the track on Saturday AM. Later, G2 |
