Not to burst anyones bubble, but I'd be happy if they just finished the 200 miles. That, in itself, would be a victory for Buell. |

Take this for what its worth I emailed SuperbikePlanet.com to try to get them to expound on their "infamous Buell shakedown" story, and this was Dean Adam's reply "Scott, Rumor at Daytona was that they had McWilliams down there riding the bike but it all ended in tears. Dean" |

So what, he decided he didn't like it or he crashed and died or his prior commitments wouldn't allow him to race or he let the smoke out trying to get used to the low rev range or it started raining or somebody's cat died? |

Yeah Dean couldn't be more vague. Did some more searching - have you guys seen this? http://www.buell.com/en_us/mania/racing/racerprofiles.asp Quite the list. Maybe a bunch of the Formula USA and the Canadian Thunderbike guys will be able to race in the 200. That would be cool. |

"Ended in tears" would imply a crash or a blown engine or something. Sounds like BS to me. |

Is Jeremy McWilliams signed anywhere for next year? From his website it appears he is unemployed. He does however own a bike shop in Ireland. Do you think with Buells Europe surge in popularity, they are trying to get in Ireland through one of their prominate racers? |

McWilliams is unemployed in top flight racing for 2006 according to what I've read this side of the pond. Rocket |

In the Jan 06 brit bike mag PB (performance bikes), Michael Rutter is quoted as saying: "I've been over in the US riding a bike, but I can't tell you anything about that yet, except that the trip coincided with the tornado" seems to help place him at the scene of the development rumors. |

Court, can you comment on the white bike in one of the lower pics?. My cousin used to race BOTT and took a bunch of pics of what he thought was lucifer's hammer, but after seeing your pics, I realize he is mistaken (1981 was awhile ago). pic is here Also wasn't there a Lucifer's Hammer 1 & 2? I have never seen that bike before, but the front fairing certainly seems to hint of "RR Technology". I'll do some asking about. Do you recall the date or year? The RR was developed and played with sometime before we saw it. Shirts will not be advertised, talked about or sold on Badweb. I have a choice to either buy a sponsorship to ply my killer wares or disperse them to race fans in other venues. I'll comply with the badweb request and stand moot. |

Hurricane Katrina formed on the 21st August 2005, and dissipated on the 31st August. I imagine this is the tornado allegedly Rutter is talking about. Meanwhile, back in England. Cadwell Park, Lincolnshire to be more precise. The 27th, 28th and 29th August 2005, Michael Rutter on his Fireblade got spanked by the Ducati's of Gregorio Lavilla and Leon Haslam during the 10th round of the BSB championship . Rutter was there, and so was I. I saw him with my own eyes. So which tornado Michael, or are PB talking shite? Rocket |

when did Katrina make landfall? It could still be factual. It was written as a direct quote of Rutter. |

I think it was Wilma, which hit Fla in October. |

It was certainly Wilma. Katrina was too far away to affect Florida in any major way. Nice try to connect the dots, though, RM. |

Well there's Michael Rutter on Sunday the 9th October racing his last for HM Plant Honda on his Fireblade at Brands. Knowing he needs to go job hunting, off he goes for a secret jolly at Daytona on a Buell sometime the week starting the 10th or 17th October? Sometime during the 15th October Wilma decides to pop into town for the next 10 days. Meanwhile over at Daytona Speedway there's a few Buells racing at the Fall Cycle Scene meet of Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd of October. I guess they tested for at least 2 days, if not 3, before Friday 21st? Jeez, I wonder when Rutter really found time to ride that secret Buell at Daytona. Then I gets to wondering which tornado Performance Bikes had him sailing in the wind in. I like dot to dot. Rocket |

Ummm... just out of curiosity, you Brits DO know the difference between a tornado and a hurricane, don't you? |

Rutter was spotted at the Ocean Deck on Daytona Beach Sunday after CCS/FUSA races...being Jolly. Wilma...was howling her way into Fla. at the time. Or so the Captain's log explains. |

So he never rode a secret Buell as time wouldn't have allowed. There was rumour at one time shortly after the BSB season closer that Rutter might follow Neil Hodgson into the AMA series. In the words of the Stereophonics "I'm just looking - not buying". Rocket |

On the other hand, contrary to your original report, both of them are now supposedly out of work, or NOT SAYING where they will be riding next year. Just the sort of thing you would expect had they signed agreements not to talk. Hey, I don't know what you are trying to do, but you've pretty much convinced me they will be riding for Buell at Daytona. Keep it up! |

Xlcr, I'm not trying to do anything but place facts onto the board. I for one don't see it possible that Rutter tested a secret Buell at Daytona. I've researched the tornado / hurricane time / date thing, to marry up or not PB's and anon's alleged reporting / sighting / quoting. I've checked into the Speedways race calendar to find a window when Rutter may have tested a secret Buell. I've placed Rutter at certain venues in the UK at definite times to show he wasn't awol during the 05 BSB season. If I can't spell it out to you, and you wish to believe Buell as a team, team player, motorcycle company or whatever, are more enlightened, worldly better, for having Rutter ficticiously on board or not, then that's your prerogative. Me, I prefer facts before I start hoisting my skirt and getting my knickers in a twist, and it's with facts in mind I've contributed to this discussion. One more thing please. Improve your reading skills or get glasses before you direct your sarcasm at me thank you. Below is a copy of my first post in this thread and it clearly states where Mr Rutter is plying his trade in 06. Rutter rode the works Fireblade on Michelin's in BSB last season. For 06 BSB Rutter is riding a privateer Eddy Stobart Fireblade on Dunlop's. The week before christmas he topped the first winter test at Almeria. I've no idea but it sounds far fetched to me that we're to believe Rutter can risk testing a Buell at Daytona before the start of his 06 BSB campaign. Never mind his contract obligations? Rocket |

I have it on very good authority that Rutter did NOT ride a Buell at Daytona. Which leaves the question, what was Jeremy doing there? The idea of McWilliams racing a Buell is just too good to be true |

Just received my issue of fuel, and on the inside cover there is picture of the final thunderbike race at daytona. It also states that the race was shortened from 12 laps to 8laps because of the the hurricane! It would have been possible to sneek in a test during that weekend practice or some other time. Cycle news also has a statement that Buell is very interested in the daytona 200. Mcwilliams was testing a buell and when asked about the test his answer "You should contact Buell about that". |

No chance of slipping a "secret" race bike in during the F-USA weekend. There were too many Buell racers there for it to slip by un-noticed. And not to be contrary, but of course he would say ask Buell about an alleged Buell race project. If he didn't then he wouldn't know, If he did he wouldn't be able to tell. |
