I changed the plugs along with the oil tonight, and here is what they look like. The bike only has 2200 miles on it but when you buy things used I think its a good idea. Here are the plugs the one on the left is the front the right is the back. How do yall think they look? (Message edited by smoothrod on January 04, 2006) |

They look like they have been nearly fouled to me...I run the Buell Racing Plugs and after about 7000-8000 miles they are a tan/beige color at most. These aren't the racing plugs but even for "regular ones" they look pretty dark as if there is too much fuel or as if the throttle was applied right after being started on a regular basis. This might also happen when making mostly shorter trips... (Message edited by lovematt on January 04, 2006) |

I agree with Lovematt. They look like they were burning rich, or maybe someone was "blipping" the throttle before the bike was warmed up. |

I usually replace mine at 10K miles. I have found that the front one is usually darker for some reason. I run the "correct" standard plug for my X1. You know the "give me what the book says to give me" kind? |
