Has anybody else grabbed for the brake in an emergency situation and the top edge of the hand guard got in the way? I darned near ran into the back of a truck this evening because of that darned hand guard. There is no adjustment either. They should have been designed to be out further so they wouldn't impede an emergency grab at the brake. I've never had hand guards so never had this problem. Is this a problem or just my problem? My fingers reached out from the throttle and were stopped by that top edge as explained above. I was looking at the back end of a pickup truck and didn't understand why my hand wasn't squeezing the front brake. I stopped with my right foot. |

I've never run into that on any of my bikes with handguards, but I also tend to ride MotoGP style with two fingers on the brake lever at all times... |

Ditto that. I always cover the front brake with 2 or 3 fingers. |

Not yet... I took some getting used to though because my Tiger's hand guards were open on the end. DAve |

2 thoughts: - as others have mentioned - 2 fingers on the front brake. I ride like that *always*. - forgive me if this is old news, but how is the level of your front brake in relation to your hand? If you sit on the bike with your fingers on top of the front brake lever, your fingers should be in a straight line with your forearm. I've seen many bikes with the front brake lever rotated up too far. That *could* be part of your problem?? Just a thought Henrik |

I think part of my problem is the gloves I was wearing added probably 1/2 inch to my normal finger length. I do like the cold air protection of the guards. |
