I read that the flowmaster 40 series flows 350cfms would that be enough for a xb12r? I have a spare one lying around and am kinda curious to see how it performs/sounds?

I heard from Terry Parsley of Vallejo Buell that they are presently working with Flowmaster on a muffler for the XB racebike they have so looks like something will be coming. You can always check with them (707) 643-1413.

Damon, you have been reading the deep recesses of my mind as I look at a Summit catalog. I was going to try a few things this winter. If it doesn't work the muffler could go on my truck!

Isn't it a little big, bulky and heavy?

Yeah its a little wider then the original, shorter, and i think it might weigh the same not sure though. I just like tinkering with my bike thats the main reason why Im putting it on.

big, bulky and heavy? good reason to put underneath the bike, where it can also be used for a bash plate, and even a handy place to put a floor jack under. also aiding stability, takes more leverage to bend a bike into a turn when it has 20 pounds of steel underslung. any one want to experiment with the muffler off my brothers Cummins diesel powered Dodge one ton? he will trade for snowmachine parts.

Fullpower,
I'll trade a carb for that muffler, it's a flatslide Mikuni off my pedalcar motor...works great on a snowmachine....

It turns out the flowmaster is too wide. It wouldnt clear the kickstand without it sticking too far out to the right, which it would drag when leaning hard. Plus it looks kind of weird with dual off centered pipes.(relative to the centerline of the bike)
