The Ortega Kid is in Texas?! Cool! Way to go guys. Dago, No need to wait until racing season. Autumn and Winter are great times to do the track thing at OHR. |

Not only is he in Texas, he's already proven to be a true Texan. Both he and his wife are good people. See? That's why I like you two much. Ya'll bring us track days when I thought there were none. Hook it up, please! I'm very happy to hear that OHR doesn't close simply because it gets cold. Jared, the class was cake and the mock race was fun. I hope you do decide to get your license. It's more fun hanging out in the paddock area with a bunch of people you know. |

My XB and Shane's S1 "slumming it" under the Ducati Austin tent. Actually, Ducati Austin kicks a$$ and we're grateful to be allowed into these Duc only events). S1 and XB hangin' out with Lootenant Dan's Thruxton. Hey! They're not gonna let THAT out on the track, are they? My goose would be cooked! You could probably drive this car UNDER a Humvee! Extreme zoom with a crappy camera...oh well, better than nothing. 'Nother long shot...

Blazin' Shane and Lootenant Dan suiting up. Crashin' Chris is just leaving on his Monster in the background. A l'il Blue Buell in a sea of Red Wolves! Ah, but the Ortega Kid and his Track Weapon are here to save the day! Nice to meet you derek! More longshots. Crashin' Chris (I think) looks like he's about to pounce on a rabbit in the grass! Last longshot: I had a great time and look forward to doing it again soon. Motorsports Ranch is much more fun than Texas World Speedway. Maybe we can get a Buell Only track day together and invite some Ducs along for a change! I also have a first person POV video that I'm happy to share, but have nowhere to host it. If you look at the front of my XB above, you can just see the CVS video camera mounted on the right side of the front fairing. It worked fairly well and I'd like to experiment more with these on the track. HellBuelly J "There are only three sports: mountain climbing, bull fighting, and motor racing. Jay, Email it to me and I'll throw it up on the site here. Be glad to. Email to ... Blake at BadWeatherBikers dot com OHR on 11/12 is in the works. Nothing but us track day fools though. If you want an ambulance we'd need to arrange for that separately. Join CMRA as associate member and cost is $75, otherwise $100 for a day at OHR. Not sure if they will issue 2006 memberships yet or not. Probably will since last race of the season was two weeks ago. You know what I'm thinking? A BadWeB Endurance Team. I say we use Dago's bike. All in favor? The aye's have it. |

http://www.cmraracing.com/involvement.htm for more info. Ignore the text under the Associate Membership heading that says "This level of membership does not include riding privileges of any kind." It is wrong, wrong, wrong. |

I'm all in favor of the endurance team. From what I understand, it's one of the best ways to ramp up to running the sprint races. Time to read up on the rules... |

OK - with one week to go before the Saturday 10/29 ride, "count me in" Buellers include: Chris H. Paul Kevin Micah Bruce Derek (may be meeting us part way through the ride) Chris R. "Count me out" Buellers: David - baby due, but I'm hoping he'll meet us in the morning for breakfast and/or demo rides Patrick - still doing his Navy thing, and may not be back by then Justin (grayghost from sporttwin.com) - broken motor mount on his tuber and needs to take it in, so he may try to meet up with us there We're still waiting/hoping to hear from Danny, Forrest, Gary, Justin, Jared, and Jonny. I also invited Brad (Buellman - Admin/host of www.sporttwin.com), but he's in the process of moving and didn't think he could go. Anyone else? Let us all know if you're in! |

Hey, I sent out an email about nailing down the plans for the demo day ride... Another comment, I was looking at the Buell site, the IMS in Fort Worth the first weekend of November:goto the Buell booth and get a free t'shirt. You have to give them you're VIN number but I guess I'll trust them they work for Buell. And you'll have it with ya if you carry your insurance card... Kevin |

Here's a suggested ride for you guys (~174 miles). http://www.forthefew.com/default.aspx?p=Rides&r=3 I've done it several times. It's not too long, not too short, and not too straight. I'd suggest you eat in Muenster for lunch. It's a German community with excellent meats. I sure wish I could go. But Wednesday's D-Day! |

So far the plan is this (minus a few forthcoming details)... 8am *Optional* Meet in the Corinth area for breakfast/coffee (anyone have any suggestions?) 9am *Optional* Meet at American Eagle HD/Buell for demo rides 11am Leave from AE HD/B and ride north (NE or NW, TBD) into southern Oklahoma (approx. 200-300 mile ride total) 1pm Meet for lunch somewhere on the ride (TBD) 2pm Ride some more, back into north Texas 5pm-ish Meet back at AE HD/B 6pm-ish *Optional* Beverages in the area 'til ??? for those who don't want to go home yet... Add Jonny to the above "I'll be there" list, and Forrest to the "I can't be there" list. Post up if you're interested! |

Cowtown, what are ya trying to say! LOL that is the biggest cluster I have ever put my eyes on. Speaking of riding safety, what is the preferred riding width and distance of this group? I ride side by side with friends I know and trust, but with a group of 6-8 staggered and spaced always seems to be the rule. Any input is most appreciated.... |

Slowride, I always ride in single file in a group. I leave it to each rider on the distance they feel comfortable with. I don’t like to ride staggered because I like to move around in my lane depending on road conditions, oncoming traffic, topography, corners, ect., and I’m sure that would drive the rider behind me crazy. The odd thing about that series of photos is the first one looking up the street looks like there’s plenty of distance between the riders. Does anyone what country their in. |

Speed and a blind crest of the hill surely contributed to this mess... I like staggered if I'm riding in a mostly straight line and at sane speeds. Go faster or curvier, and I'd rather be single file as well. It is up to the ride leader to set clear expectations and the pace. |

For those of you who would rather ride on a full stomach Saturday, meet at IHOP at around 8am. If you don't want to eat, come for a cup o' joe. Otherwise, meet us at American Eagle HD/B at 9am for demo rides, or at 10:30am for the group ride. IHOP Restaurant 8310 S. Stemmons Freeway Hickory Creek, TX 76210-2424 (940) 497-3162 This IHOP is about 2 miles south of American Eagle on the southbound I-35E frontage road at the Swisher Exit. Coming from Dallas, take Swisher, and U-turn under I-35. |

This may be another chance to ride or hang out...I'll be there Saturday for sure (my wife is having a "girl's weekend" and I've been kicked out). Buell at Ft. Worth IMS (International Motorcycle Show?) Friday, November 4, 2005 - Monday, November 6, 2006. Fort Worth Convention Center Exhibit Halls A-E 1201 Houston Street Ft. All, Here's a link to the video I took during the recent Texas Ducati Track Day (Buells welcome!). Blake was kind enough to host it for me, though the quality seems to have suffered somewhat in emailing it. The .mov version is clearer than the .wmv version. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/Videos/ This is using one of the CVS Pharmacy "one time use" cameras, though they really aren't "one time use" if you're a little bit handy. See Reepicheep's posts on the subject elsewhere on the board or here: http://camerahacks.10.forumer.com/index.php I taped it on to the right side of my fairing. In the meantime, enjoy!
