Well, many of you have seen me get cranky at a number of badwebbers for negative scribblings -- I've even gotten cranky with myself, fergoodnesssakes I've not been to Sacborg for a long far -- nuthing wrong with the folks there, or their commo styles, just not my cuppa . . . . many other boards I've looked at were dry, boring, exercises in staring tat thier own belly-buttons, and I went once or twice, and never felt the urge to re-visit -- my lack, I'm sure couple a days ago, I visited the Cycleworld forums (instert appropriate legal symbols here) . . . what I had expected, after having been a reader of that rag for a long time, was a reasonable, fun-loving, lively discourse, touching on a broad variety of topics, inhabited by literate, well-read people who were blessed with classical educations and who remembered more thatn 10% of the vocabular to which they were exposed in grade school WHat I found was some of that, though not very much -- rather, it was Sacborg on a bad day, vitirol spewing from keyboards all round the country, apparently narrow minded weasels who would never speak like they post, for fear of loosing teeth and spleen in the resulting fray. all this is a precursor to thanking Blade and the other Regualtors that hlep make this a great place to learn, exchange views, teach (for we all of us know things others don't), and make friends. ALso, thanks to the membership, who, far more often than not, greatly exceed the expectations of the board, and bring much of value to many folks. thanks, all! |

There's something to be said for Buellers. I've never had friends like I have with BadWeBbers and the 3%ers. There's a trust built in with these two groups of people. I've never met a BadWeBber I didn't like. Not sure why, but when I meet a BadWeBber in person, the person is real close to the way I imagine them. As far as Blake goes, here's to ya fearless leader. You've taught me much. As far as the custodians go it's an honor to work with ya'll. |

Your opener is right on, Bomber. I like the mature atmosphere here--the flames, f*ck you's and flying fingers that seem to crop up so often on many boards seem kind of junior-high-ish to me. I'd like to think that, in my advanced years, I've gone beyond that kind of behavior. To each his/her own, though... rt |

I was fixin to tell you to post to the KV, not knowing how floorboards were applicable to Buell motorcycles... Thanks for the kind words and your friendship and support and also for your significant help in maintaining the board Bomber. Thanks to everyone who helps make this a positive place on the web to talk Buell. |

Why is everyone so down on SacBorg? There are still many people on that board that own Buells, some even race them. There are a little over 1000 registered names on that site and I would guess that 80%, or more, have owned or still owns a Buell. We make fun of EVERYTHING over there! The opinions of right/wrong/positive/negitive are posted. That is free speech. It can and does get pretty lively sometimes. |

and, ricky, I just posted this on sacborg: T*R*A*M*P Rider Member # 1030 posted 10-08-2005 07:23 AM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I haven't noticed anyone being "down on sacborg"..... seems this board has an entire thread dedicated to quoting badweb posts, but you won't find it's counterpart over there. Anyone I've ever conversed with regarding the various sites seems to speak highly of sacborg, as have I. The most striking feature of this board is the fact that it's still, in some technical manner, a regional board, yet it draws it's posterhood from all over the country, and even outside the country, as well. Personally, even when I've had bad experiences with boards, I don't whine about 'em on other boards. It's kind of like having a problem with a person and then telling evryone else, instead of just that person. Dyna explained to me, though, that he'd been banned form another board, and therefore couldn't take it up with that board's postership, which bolsters his own position, anyway. Who really gives two sh*ts what any board's posters say about another board and it's posters? Sacborg's got a good board in it's own right, and I think Sacborg shines it's brightest when the focus isn't directed, by name, at other boards. Think of the buell/ex-buell community as a group of people...in every group, there's usually someone who has to talk about all the other people, as opposed to discussing ideas and experiences. Sacborg provides a good source of alternative viewpoints on the Buell experience, from riders who've owned, and in many cases still do own, buells. My own personal experience with the marque has been with my incredibly reliable S2T, and with the examples that come through my shop. I haven't ever owned or wrenched on anything but tubers, so I limit my own criticisms, which have been almost entirely positive, to those machines. Badweb is the, by far, the most visted and popular Bueller site in the world. that's not going to change. The hits are so frequent, there, that the "quickboard" is, for all intents and purposes, a time-release chatroom. No amount of whining, bawling or whimpering is gonna change badweb's popularity. Badweb, even with the archaic software, is an excellent site. One of my own two favourites, actually. ...No koolaid involved, I've just met a kickass group of local riders through it's Quickboard, guys who dominate the twisties of our Hudson Valley. My own Buell's been , as I've said, topnotch, so it's only my experience, and not any sweetened soft drink speaking for me, save for a heavy pitcher of agua de jamaica when I'm buffing the yellow line with my Levis. All the heavy-hitter of the Buell community, including Erik Buell, his'se'f, read sacborg....religiously. Keep the hard-hitting commentary coming strong. As a politician-friend of mine once said "I listen to all the (insert state-colour here) lies on my radio, even though I'm with the other party. I already know all our lies, I want to hear theirs" -------------------- |

ducxl said: "...Wishin' after many months i had my official ATC membership packet i paid for" * * ducman- c'mon- you know ATC has changed hands a few time sin the past 6 months. The lag time is no fault of Cochise, or of Spiderman, either. The club membership packets seemed to have been caught in a sort of limbo without getting to either director when they needed them. I do recall reading, on ATC, that Cochise would NOT cash any checks until members received their packs, and then would start their membership cycle ony AFTER the packs were received by the individual member. Taking that issue up on ATC with Cochise might've been a good idea, first. As to the various sites- Clearly, Badweb is number 1 in terms of postership and hits.....No comparison. also attracts a nice, high-calibre group, and the expertise coefficient runs real high, here. I'm realy pleased with the folks I've met through this board, and the info I request here always comes back with rapid-fire precision. I am awed that one guy can run such a topnotch site without membership dollars, subsidized only by sponsorhsip dollars. The best part is the fact that the software, here, which I've seen bemoaned as being as being difficult to navigate and outdated...doesn't seem to stop anyone, does it? I divide most of my online time between americanthunderbike.org and badweatherbikers.com, like many of the online buelling community. Badweb gives me the best website, through which I've met some excellent riders and people. americanthunderbike.org gives me a membership subsidized and member-controlled club which is morphing more and more into a series of regional riding charters run without the constraints of factory overlording. americanthunderbike.org is growing frightfully fast, too. I get a kick out of sacborg and give it's owners props for turning a regional group into a national website. The frequent antibuell sentiment therein provides a locus for balance, although I can't, based on my own positive buelling experience, back any of it up. battletwins has the potential to be the next regional site to bust big. All in all, badweb and ATC seem to balance each other and synergistically help each other grow. Between the wto, I think Buell owners will find an excellent source for local riding groups, the best shops, parts discounts and availability (Thanks, Dave!!), expert advice, etc. I couldn't imagine online buelling without either one, frankly.... |

aw. H-E double Hockey stix, duc- i didn't mean to come off all preachy and what-not....Your point is as valid as any i'd make. You were answering a question brought up, here.... I just know that both recent directors found it difficult to get the membership materials to themselves, let alone to the members. ...all seems to be getting fixed really fast, finally. |

"Hey Ricky, Give me a break. Badweb gets insults over at Sacborg regularly by many including you. Snide remarks about Bdweb and Blake. Do what you want, but be honest." That is true. So how is that not being honest? At least I don't do that here and I also don't pick fights here either. |
