My '99 X1 began missing 2 days ago and now won't keep running. Starts & dies. Set a code 23. Front injector. Ran some resistance tests on injectors-OK, voltage on harness connectors to ground-OK. Blew air backward through injectors. That's about it. No "breakout box" for tests with the ECM, etc. as listed in the manual. Anyone have this problem. Is it a bad injector, or can it be other things? I live 150-200 mi. from any dealer. If it is injectors can I get them anywhere online? Any advice or help is appreciated! Thanks! |

You checked voltage to ground to the injectors, but the injectors always have positive power to them - the ECM makes the ground connection to fire the injector. Check the wire from the injector to the ECM for opens or short to ground (can rub on throttle cables on 99's). The front and rear injector cables could be swapped - and if the fault remains 23 the fault is with the wiring or ECM, if code 32 the injector is at fault (but resistance is OK - so I would suspect wiring). Good Luck! |
