Got some interesting info today: The Harley Davidson Foundation has donated a 2006 Buell Ulysses to the American Red Cross - Morgan Freeman Auction for Hurricane Katrina Relief. Morgan Freeman is from the effected area and created the auction to help raise funds for American Red Cross efforts. The black Ulysses comes with a limited edition windscreen signed by Erik Buell. The auction is located at the following address: https://www01.charityfolks.com/cfauctions/auction_bid.asp?AuctionID=1407&catname =The%20American%20Red%20Cross%20Disaster%20Relief%20Auction The Ulysses auction concludes 9/21/05. 100% of the winning auction bid will be donated to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, which will enable the Red Cross to provide shelter, food, counseling, and other assistant to victims of Hurricane Katrina. Just passing along info, 1313 |

Cool thing to do. It's only at $8,500 last I checked. Tempting! |

More than tempting; if anyone is genuinely in the market for a Ulysses, they should be bidding it to at least $10,000, 'cause it's darned unlikely you will find one for less! And Buell gave the darned thing up, so all of the money will go to the charity for Katrina. And I'll bet you would get more than the bike; it's likely the winner will get some real kudos from the factory. Sounds like a win win!!! All I need to do is convince my wife that this is all about charity and not the bike, because I've been told no more bikes until I sell one. And I like the ones I have...waaah! |

I will keep this thread posted when/if I actualy receive the bike and if anything otherwise interesting happens. The auction site tacked on $20 for shipping and sent me a note saying it would be delivered to my house. Sounds like they think its a toy motorcycle or something. Anyway I will wait to see what happens. Excited to get the bike and help the storm victoms at the same time. Jim |

Well, Gails HD in Grandview, MO sent 10% of the selling price of my Uly to the hurricane victims. I refused to pay anything less than MSRP. |
