Well it is past time to replace the Showa shock on my S3. Local dealers have said that they can not find the OEM one. I don't trust the used shocks on Ebay. Anyone have suggestions for a replacement? |

Either have your shock redone by one of the many suspension shops out there(I had mine done by Aftershocks in Palo Alto) or get hold of Al Lighton with American Sportbike--see sponsor links. |

Can't find? It's part number 94018Y. It's pricey...the later fat style Showa and front mount. A little over $500. You need a better parts guy! May as well get a Works for a couple hundred more. |

Oh yeah...another thing...is yours the early pre-recall shock? If so Race Tech makes a Gold Valve kit for it. It rocks. Also, if it is the early style and you replace it, I want the spring! |

I talked to Al at American Sport Bike and he indicated that it would be better worth the money to buy new than to have this thing rebuilt, but if I wanted it rebuilt, he would get someone to do it. Mentioned also that for a few hundred bucks more I could have a new one and not have one that may only have half of the life the original one had....like Rick said above..me thinks I want the spring |

If anyone is interested I have a brand new never installed showa shock. It was a recall replacement that was never used, because the bike was used as a drag bike. |
